I hate to say it...the only way to really chase and catch the dollar is to ..... go to work.

I used to chase years ago, no more. Finishing up every day, or week isn't feasible. It's a never ending game.

Chasing leads to over-betting, and not being selective, both BR killers.

of course...

I have chased as well. It's been quite some time though. I am disciplined as hell and make way less bets each week than most people here. Someone mentioned accidebntly betting the wrong side on accident, that is something I have never done.

Wow, Man you never bet the wrong side accidentally, you're going too slow, or you are perfect. I've done that dozens of times !

LOL, far from perfect but I don't drink regularly (once every few months) or do drugs and I do pay close attention to what I am doing. I would be pissed if I bet the wrong side of something.

The worst part about that wrong bet was sitting thru that game (SUNDAY NIGHT GAME...it was particularly tough because I knew the bet I thought I made was the correct bet.....and I bet it above my normal play, occasionally I wll take a shot...

The game was clearly suppose to be an UNDER, but I bet the OVER, and it was lucky to be in a position to WIN, and then miraculously it made it over....

It was particularly excruciating because of these factors...I even bought some back in the 3rd qtr and won on that...But I was set up for a huge letdown....It was the first time I ever realized during the game I made the wrong play by mistake...

I hadn't did this in years (bet the wrong side)... overall I've done it 5 times now...

A misteak occurs every so often, It just happens, If infrequent it doesn't matter much.

If you live at 123 Elm St, you will get mail for 128 Elm St, once in a while, or worse.

Anybody making volume bets, is likely to err, at least once per thousand bets, USPS would love that ratio.

Everybody makes an error, given time. Busch, or not !

i chase a little, but having a big bankroll and making small wagers keeps my account from ever getting in danger of being all in............and out!

The term "getting out" is actually not a bad way to play if your a professional that knows he will evenutally have more winners than losers. I try and "get out" lots of times and it usually pays off for me.

Example, lets say I am down like $1400 on Sat afternoon, I will bet like $400 reverses at night to "get out" and I am happy with my results. I know I will hit more winners than losers.

I advise this type of play to only like 3% of us here.

I remember after the Fla FSU game last year , I was so upset with the refs, and the way the game ended I chased with a 1500 parlay (all I had left in my offshore acct)...I never bet parlays with anywhere near that much money, and I didn't even give a damn at that point...It may have been the most lopsided officiated game I ever watched...And Fla still had the lead down to the last drive, FSU completed a 4th and like 17...next play that Loser Rix throws one 50yds into the endzone...I felt like I was shot in the stomach...
J-Man, I know exactly what you're talking about. I only had $150 on that game, which is an average bet for me. But I was so upset, and felt so cheated, I felt like I wanted to break my TV. I'll never forget that game, because it's the only time where I sincerely believe the officials were paid off. The officials cost Fla a minimum of 28 points that game, and it still took a miracle to lose it. By the way, congrats on your new mod position.

If we are all honest, I suspect that EVERYONE who posts on here has chased at one time or another in their gambling career...

I promise you guys that if you continue to do this, you will eventually lose your entire bankroll..

It happened to me more than 20 years ago, and my poor mother had to pawn some jewelry to get me out of debt from a local bookmaker...

That was rock bottom for me, and since then, I have NEVER put myself into that position again...

Chased but it has been a long time.Funny you bring it up though, I just setup a buddy of mine a couple of months ago and he is bring back memories. Seems to chase everytime he is down going into Sunday. Keep trying to tell him it is a long term game and it doesn't matter what happens in one week. Has cost him a lot of $,I hope he has learned, but probably not.
