The thing I pick up from your posts other than a lot of vitriol and judgments about something you will never understand. It's great that you have decided to stay in a marriage that obviously doesn't make you happy. Otherwise you wouldn't be so worried about whats going on outside, or repeating the mantra "I'm sticking it out for my kids" hopefully your kids can see past this emotionless relationship you and your wife have and can find happiness when they are ready for one.

As for all the arguing about divorce statistics ... I doubt it has anything really to do with couples fighting (did couples not fight fifty years ago?) but, rather, that women (and their children) aren't as financially dependent as they used to be. Both parents are far more likely to let their marriage end if they know the children will be provided for.
