[h=1]Saints want to extend Drew Brees[/h] By Blaine Blontz, Saints Correspondent, Wed, Feb 17th 9:01am EST
The Saints hope to extend Drew Brees' contract, according to GM Mickey Loomis. To this point, the Saints have yet to contact Brees' agent, Tom Condon, about an extension. (Alex Marvez on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Brees is getting ready to enter the final year of his contract. As such, he'll have a $30 million cap hold. The Saints could hope to lessen the immediate cap hit by extending Brees while also retaining him beyond the 2016 season. Brees finished as the sixth-best QB in terms of standard scoring for fantasy purposes. That put him right around most expectations to start the year, though his production wasn't extremely consistent.

#2 on the all time completions list

Brees now trails only Brett Favre now. Favre completed 6,300 passes in his Hall of Fame career, meaning that Brees needs 174 completions to break the record.

Although it's highly unlikely that Brees will break the record in the final four games of this season, he's breathing down Favre's neck.

"You play long enough, then I guess those things happen," Brees said. "It just makes me think of all the guys who caught those balls, and all the guys who blocked."

Congrats Drew

ATLANTA -- Drew Brees has now completed more passes than any player in NFL history, and he is on pace to set the record for career passing yards in two weeks.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback broke Brett Favre's record with his 6,301st career completion in the second quarter Sunday at Atlanta -- a 17-yard pass to receiver Michael Thomas.

Drew Brees is one of my all time favorites so I'm biased, but if you watch all his games for the past several years, YES, he's terrific. He's accurate, intense, never gives up and he has an arm. He can hit the deep ball in stride with the best of them and all his other passes are so accurate. They say he can't play outdoors but yes he can.

Brady, Manning, and who is the third?

If it's Rodgers I don't agree the he's one of the best of all time yet.

I do agree 100 percent Drew Brees is not even close to the level of the greats.

4 years later and I believe Rodgers has entered the conversation as one of the best of all time

I also believe Brees has reached the level of the all time greats and the most accurate passer in the history of the NFL

Might be the MVP this year:

Brees passed for 363 yards and four touchdowns, and the Saints won their ninth straight with a 48-7 demolition of Philadelphia on Sunday that marked the Eagles' worst loss by far since they won last season's Super Bowl.
In fact, it was the worst loss by a reigning Super Bowl champion.
