I kept a keen eye on the Met`s farm systems back then..Tidewater, Lynchburg and Jackson..I was surprised Neil Allen did not have a great career..HE THREW FIRE..Jeff Reardon was his bullpen mate

Brett was great but between Wilson and White, I think they struck out around 15-16 times between them in a five game series.....Philly pitching was awesome...

WILLIE WILSON SET A WS RECORD FOR STRIKING OUT IN THAT 1980 WS (12)...IT WAS ACTUALLY A 6 GAME SERIES....THE SERIES WAS VERY CLOSE , 3 GAMES WERE DECIDED LATE AND COULD HAVE WENT EITHER WAY

Man, were these fun to watch. They faught each other in the club house, hated Charlie Finley, but they were a bunch of young guys that loved to play baseball.

You forgot Ken Holtzman on your list. He won 21 games that year and had and ERA of 2.97.

Fingers ERA was 1.91 that year.

I could go on all night about this team, but I have bored you guys enough already.:lolBIG:

How bout your avatar and some of the NFL teams of the 70's ...

I would rather watch baseball , football and basketball games from that decade more than sports today .

I wish their was a 70's network that showed different games every night .
