Actually, the opposite happened. There's SO MUCH crime going on in CR, crime that is concentrated in a very small geographical area, that you're constantly on the lookout. This didn't make me afraid. After a while, I started thinking like them. I haven't admitted this before, but I will now. The last year or so I spent in CR, I started to entertain homicidal thoughts. I was actually thinking about killing some of those scumbags. It had to be someone that deserved it though, not just anybody...especially when you consider that you could be leaving some child with out a father, or a wife without her husband, mother without her son. One thing that concerned me was preventive detention though. If I was linked to a murder, they could lock me up without even charging me. That complicates things if one gets connected with the victim. There would have to be NO witnesses, because as an American, I'm easily indentifiable. The whole point of killing someone is to get away with it. I'm not one of those guys that they say "He was trying to get caught." Know what I mean? Anyways, if you find it more and more difficult to control homicidal urges, you know you have to get out of there.
I'm alright now, though.
