BTW - John Juwanda just won two big pots to reach $800K in chips. He remains dangerous.

NOW 140 players remaining
All of the players remaining in the tournament are now guaranteed to take home $54,965.

I've always thought Raymer was a solid player. I think he will finish very high(top 3) if not win the whole thing. Now that he's already made the millions from last year, he will be looking to win the tourney which is the best mentality. Raymer can play some poker, it was evident if you've ever seen his commentaries from last year's WSOP play by play. Even if it came down to him and Phil Ivey heads up, I would give Ivey only a slight edge(even though it may be a disbelief to many).

Exactly, that commentary episode was very neat and interesting. The guy can obvioulsy play.

Who would've played the k-7 from us guys??/? prolly no one...

The reports are totally lacking in context so whether it was a good play with K7 preflop cannot be determined. The missing details include position, stack sizes, who if anyone opens, propensity of blinds to defend etc. etc.

Royalfan, do you play a lot of poker? Where do you usually play(online or live)? We seem to have similar views on poker.....

I play at party poker. Play mostly large multi table tourneys. That is where I have excelled for the most part. Play under this same handle.

Title: Raymer Cannot Be Stopped
Log: Gen Wattanabe goes all-in for his last . Greg mentions that he knows he's behind, but decides to call. Wattanabe shows J-J with one spade. Raymer turns over 8-6 - no spades. The flop comes 7s-3s-2s. Raymer has no pair, and no solid draw, while Wattanabe still has an overpair and a flush draw. The turn is a non-spade 5, giving Raymer an open ended straight draw, but he's still behind. The river brings a non-spade 9. Raymer hits his runner-runner straight, busts Wattanabe, and is now sitting atop a stack of $1,600,000

Luckiest S.O.B. on the planet....personally when someone just keeps getting shit like that I develop a short fuse....Id end up punching him out.

That's how people win, 35% skill 65% luck. Now Raymer admits he knows he is behind pre-flop, unless you "feel" lucky Why-TF call ?

8-6 ?

Arrggggggg !

Guys, he attacked a SHORT STACK that was ALL-IN.

The RISK was worth the REWARD in his estimation............even with his rags.
