Well yeah.

Admittedly brings a smile to our faces, but the fact is that the local Sheriff and/or PD have a legal responsibility to protect and serve local businesses - especially those which might carry an increased risk of potential property crime.

Within easy driving distance of your home (3miles from Taj MaJer?) there are literally hundreds of businesses legally dealing drugs. And as far as producers, I seem to recall Anh/Busch having a distribution center down there off of Division St near 360, eh?

All of them are legally worthy of appropriate police protection, drivebys and oversight.

First time I toked with state-legal medical marijuana patients in California when I visited in 2002, I got three vaporized blasts and then got lost on the way to the bathroom. (down the hall and to the left about 100 feet)

Once I found it had trouble remembering how to pee.

You'd really like to have our volunteer enlisted servicemen serving side by side with illegals and criminals? Sounds like an amazing environment for those currently in harms way.

First off why don’t you explain how you became an expert on the subject and how you know if I served or not? Unless you’ve been there you have no idea what it’s like. When you are dependent on the guy next to you and he on you it doesn’t matter what color he is or what his background my be. When you’re put in a situation where there is a distinct possibility that today may be your last you hang on to whatever increases your chances of survival which in time of war is the guy standing next to you. Not all of the current military are in it for the money but most of the reserves never thought they would be in harms way when they enlisted way back when. If I were of age in the current situation I would not volunteer but when I was of age I had no choice.

I did serve (no combat). So my opinion is just from having grown up in a military family, and having countless discussions and conversations with others who have.

Maybe you would have had no problem fighting alongside a heroin addict who was forced to be there watching your back. Given the option though, you'd really have no problem with this?

No I wouldn’t and apparently neither does the military. However I would keep them together, segregate them so to speak, as replacements for those returning stateside.

GRAFENWÖHR, Germany — U.S. criminal gangs have gained a foothold in the U.S. military and are using overseas deployments to spread tentacles around the globe, according to the FBI.
FBI gang investigator Jennifer Simon said in an e-mail to Stars and Stripes this week that gang members have been documented on or near U.S. military bases in Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Iraq.
“It’s no secret that gang members are prevalent in the armed forces, including internationally,” Simon said, adding that the FBI is preparing to release a report on gangs in the military.
