But the record 24 million tune in for the Aug. 6 Republican debate on Fox News Channel has certainly enabled CNN to demand such rich ad rates in the scatter market.




It is actually an interesting issue that nobody has really brought up, although I'm sure Trump is well aware of it. Basically these networks get to use his likeness for free and make big profits off of it. Whereas if NBC were to use him, they have to pay a million dollars an episode. If he were to become President then anything he would say or do would be public domain. He is basically providing premium ad fees for the networks and free advertising/voter outreach to his opponents all for absolutely nothing. Other than him insulting them every 3 hours I guess...
