Yeah, this was AFTER Hillary announced, as well as the R's who have already announced. And takes into account the all out media assault on anything and everything Hillary, for the last 2 weeks, which always helps her. You'd think they'd learn and stop attacking her for nonsense. But they don't, so it'll unfortunately assure her pretty clear sailing.
Hillary has many enemies on the left. She will have to speak to the serious allegations eventually and there are many in the left leaning press that want answers.
2016 may not be the slam dunk that many think. Hillary's biggest enemy will be Hillary and her ability to handle tough questions from the press. She is ahead now but she hasn't opened her mouth, an event that usually causes her problems.
True, BUT when they attack her for fund raising, while the R's have Koch, Adelson, Mercer, etc, or Benghazi, or Chipotle, etc., the attacks come off as the usual partisan BS and that's where she thrives, when she can come off the victim of Partisan attacks. That's why her poll numbers suddenly jumped. They'll setlle down again.
The only stuff that sticks IS the stuff from the left part of the media, such as the E Mail questions, her view on Trade, etc., and she will have to give better answers. But even if she doesn't, eventually the race will be framed on who gets to pick the next 2-3 Supreme Court Justices, and that's where the D base will come out and support Hillary, in spite of whatever misgivings they have about her personally.
She better get the minority ground game in gear, without it she is in trouble. Hispanics may not fall in line for her like they did for Obama. Clintons and Obamas dislike each other, it will be interesting to see if she runs from him like most run from a 2nd term prez.
She does have some explaining to do and if she does it with no humility, the press will excoriate her. She won't get the easy ride Obama received in 08 or 12.
I think this will be a very interesting 18 months and the race will be closer than many expect
Here comes the new "right wing conspiracy":
- The New York Times has a report about the State Department’s decision to approve the sale of Uranium mines to a Russian company that donated $2.35 million to the Clinton Global Initiative, and that a Russian investment bank promoting the deal paid Bill $500,000 for a speech in Moscow.
- The Washington Post reports that Bill Clinton has received $26 million in speaking fees from entities that also donated to the Clinton Global Initiative.
- The Washington Examiner reports, “Twenty-two of the 37 corporations nominated for a prestigious State Department award — and six of the eight ultimate winners — while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State were also donors to the Clinton family foundation.”
- And Reuters reports, “Hillary Clinton's family's charities are refiling at least five annual tax returns after a Reuters review found errors in how they reported donations from governments, and said they may audit other Clinton Foundation returns in case of other errors.”
