nobody i know is talking nfl these days in real life, only when i come to the forums i see a few guys trying to kept the nfl thing going...i love it

What is your set of buddies talking about these days? I think most know that there are more than a couple forum posters keeping the nfl thing going...blow things out of proportion much?

and by the way I think the product is less appealing now for a lot of reasons, but I still watch a lot of Nfl

Interesting. I guess I never talked that much nfl socially to begin with. But will always sit in the bar if there is a game on at a restaurant. To each his own...thanks for the reply.

I was at the dolphins game. Place filled in very nicely. However its always pretty empty at the start of the game and the start of the 3rd quarter as (for start of game) people tailgate outside and takes time to get in stadium, have bathroom break, concession stand, etc.

Sorry bodyforlie, you brought a pocket knife to ACEBB gun fight.. lololol

The boy blunder really beclowned himself here.

The NFL’s average household rating is currently 25.1, down from 26.9 over the same period last year, and the 28.1-28.7 range where it sat from 2013-15.

Twenty-five of 31 teams (excluding the Chargers, because of the move) are drawing lower local numbers than they did in 2016. Nineteen have dropped 5 percent or more, including brand name teams like the Cowboys (7% drop), Patriots (8%) and Steelers (6%), and both New York clubs (the Giants are down 7%, the Jets are down 37%). Conversely, only three teams (Chiefs, Bucs, Lions) have improved by more than 5 percent.

As more and more casual fans stop watching because the game is too slow or they're triggered by the protests or whatever, there will be more of a motivation for the league to push various ways to financially speculate on the product.

Less catering to dudes wearing jersey's of guys half their age and more to people who want to put some $ up. Sounds like a win.

Disclaimer - I am against the kneeling all the way.

With that out of the way, let's be a little realistic showing empty seats in Cleveland, San Francisco and Indianapolis well that is to be expected. All three of those teams suck and they had issues before the kneeling started.

Miami is down for a ton of reasons, you do remember the Hurricane and the damage that caused. A lot of people were affected by this and lost their property or had severe damage. Choice is easy, stay home to what you have left or look to move or rebuild elsewhere.

Also outside of the Cowboys who draw no matter where they play, we are talking visitors of Tennessee, Jets and Jaguars. Not exactly big name teams having a big time season.

Let's see the empty seats when these teams play bigger name, bigger draw teams or at least heated rivals.

While I love the empty seats they can be accounted for.

In regards to viewership on television they've been hurt there more than anywhere else. I guess I could count myself as a casualty for them. Outside of week 1 Thursday game, I haven't watched one since. I haven't watched any Sunday night or Monday night games either. I have found the match ups not appealing and if I have no financial interest in them, I have no need to watch. If I need to see games, I can watch the short version on Directv and move on. Granted they don't have the shortcuts for the nationally televised game but with so many outlets showing replays and stats galore I don't need to watch.

There were days I couldn't wait for NFL, those days appear to be over. It's all about money and not the product on the field. Too many blown or missed calls, too much bs from the announcers who you have to question if they are watching what you are. Add in every week somebody did something nobody ever did before and it's usually some non sense stat or who the f cares. It's only a record if you make it one.

Don't confuse them with logic. They're on a roll telling everyone how they're going to take down the NFL with their propaganda. Btw, notice how they didn't include any pictures of the Eagles/Redskins game last night?

Does anyone really think the kneeling is not hurting ratings and attendance?

I kinda find that surreal. They are offending scores of millions of Americans, that's not helping their cause AND that's not helping the NFL

It's not really rocket science either

When you look at the polling numbers, it's clear the Anthem protests are losing ALL of middle America

There will always be the two extremes, so opposition and support will always be 25% to 30% on both sides. So when 69% of the people who are watching less football say they're doing so because of Anthem Protests and when only 24% say they don't have to stand for the anthem, you're losing and you're losing big time, and you've lost about 100% of the people you have a chance to influence

Numbers don't lie - less people r watching or going or supporting sponsors - will be significantly worse next year when people have to reup season tickets - NFL ain't going out of business but they aren't making money like in the past

Not a single person said they are going to take down the NFL.

Since you're so smart, why are you always attacking strawmen?
