Fish, the enforcement of the UIGEA is not a given thing. I haven't read anything saying that it is going to be enforced shortly. I believe the DOJ is purposely putting it off in order to have it overturned because of the burden it would put on the banks.

iMEGA is battling the UIGEA and they seem to believe pretty firmly that they will win and overturn the law.

Plus even if the UIGEA is enacted it is a law that requires the bettor to identify himself as a bettor to the bank he is trying to deposit gambling funds to in order to be caught. This was admitted by both the DOJ and the CEO of Wells Fargo bank at the Financial Services Committee meeting about the UIGEA. The UIGEA in itself is not a threat.

The only threats to sportsbetting I know of are HR 6870 which Barney Frank was trying to push but it has stalled. It says poker is legal but to go after sportsbooks hard within 60 or 90 days. Fortunately it stalled. It passed the Financial Services Committee but then hasn't gone before the house or senate and probably won't this year. Next year he would have to start over with another bill.

The other threat is the thing going on in Kentucky with the domain names. Its rediculous and should be overturned on appeal according to the lawyers comments I've read on the subject.

If it is not appealed, it is not a given that it would spread to other states. If it does spread, I am moving to Toronto.

Doyle no Accept Illinois Players

I received a email from Doyles Poker room 1 day after I made a $30 deposit at their site. I joined May, 2008. I have spent $407. Why didnt they block me back in May. Why did it take 6 months to block and $437 later? I contacted them regarding my money ($28.84) and they told me that they could not reverse it back to my credit card. It is one of those you pay as you go. I was told to go to another site and open up an ewallet and it was another. I dont have a bank account. I spoke with a customer service rep twice and I emailed them twice. I didnt get a response from them until after 3:00 p.m. Before hand, I had contacted my credit card company because their transaction was pending and my credit card company said they could stop the transaction. They said they couldnt. I tried to get my credit company to block it. But they couldnt. If Doyle is on the up and up, they would have reverse the charges back to my card, but Im getting all this drama for $28.84. I am sure glad I was more. I doubt if I will ever see my money again. And, it is a shame that I got taken for 6 months for $407. All the other poker sites, when I tried to register from the US, told me right then and there that they couldnt take US. Players. Why didnt Doyle do it? I want my $407 back...but I know it is not going to happen. I just want my $28.84 back.

Speaking of Kentucky laws, did you know that the Commonwealth of Kentucky trademarked the name "Kentucky" in 1990? That's why Kentucky Fried Chicken changed its name to KFC. It's also why the Kentucky Derby is now called the "Run for the Roses". And Kentucky Bluegrass is now known as Shenandoah Bluegrass. Neil Diamond even stopped allowing his song Kentucky Woman to air on radio due to royalty fees he would have to pay.

First of all, how the hell did you get a CC? If you're not solvent enough to have one WTF are you doing gambling? I suppose "nothing left to lose" applies here.

here you go guys...www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/homei if you spend anytime on the net.this is a must read and use....(ck)

hey guys can anyone help me? i'm in kentucky and use sportsbook.com and they are among the 141 domain names that are set to be "taken" by the state. there is some kind of hearing or ruling on the matter to take place on Nov. 17th. I have a few questions...will they just block the sportsbook.com poker room? will i still be able to bet on sports? after the 17th, will the domain name be taken over and my money in that account with it??? thanks CK for posting this (www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/homei) , but i really have to read it to see how it works...will the proxy keep me in the clear with my existing account or would i only benefit if i was setting up a new account?? Can't sportsbook.com just block me anyway because they know my the address listed in my account is from Kentucky?? Any help would be appreciated.
