Can anyone please help me determine which type of hedge bets will result in the biggest amount of guaranteed money? Been trying to figure something out for half hour to help my buddy out on his bet and with what I am coming up with - I just know there has to be a better way. Appreciate any and all assistance!

The most amount possible by placing a bet hedging that ticket today if that makes sense. That's my question - given the outstanding +30,000 ticket on Miami - which bet (bets) should be placed to guarantee the highest possible payout. Even if the highest guarantee is just $100 - I just want to know what is the most ideal hedge. Hope I am making sense.

You should let it ride at least until the NBA finals
If they don’t make the finals then it is what it is .

But if you going to hedge now . It really was pointless to make the bet in the first place .

I don't think you can do anything unless they make the finals.
Kind of think your stuck right now
Good luck

If u were going to hedge why didn't u just bet them for the series against Milwaukee and then go all-in again for NY?

Miami is still a long shot to win title as they are heavy dogs againt Boston and will he a dog in finals.(guessing they won't be a heavy dog in finals if they just took down Boston in ECF.)

You never know what's going to happen

The Celtics have been vulnerable lately

Just ride it out and see if they make it to the finals

But even if they do just be prepared because they will be big underdogs yet again

This is true . He is overvaluing his equity at this point .
He has built up some small amount of equity . I know a way where he can turn that into a hundred bucks or so right now but what’s the point of making the bet in the first place for such a small return

If this bet at some point becomes serious draft kings will offer him a buyout on the bet later on .
Of course it won’t be a fair offer but they will make one he can take or leave

Boston Celtics
+105
Denver Nuggets
+230
Los Angeles Lakers
+290
Miami Heat
+1600

Seems you could just bet all other teams
It depends on your bankroll
if you are gonna win 19,000 if Miami wins you could bet a few thousand on all other teams if you want a guarantee. But that is assuming you have that much money
Example 3,000 on each team. Heat win you win 10,000
Lakers win you pull 9,000
Celtics win 3,000
Nuggets win over 6,000
Depends on how you feel about each team at this point would be how much you risk
Personally ,I will take the guarantee since I don't see Miami winning but it isn't impossible

You are forgetting to deduct all the lost money from the other bets .
If Celtics win the title (which they are the favs ) you lose over $3000 dollars

so now you turn a 50 bet with equity into a 3k loss if the fav wins ?

There is nothing viable to do right now unless Miami makes the finals

People are way overvaluing the equity of this bet currently .

I mean Miami is still +1700
This should not even be a thread unless they make the finals

I would say that the best idea if you want a small hedge is to bet a smallish amount on Boston to win their series with Miami....say 600 to 1200 to win 100 to 200 on Boston and then at least you will break even/win a small amout if Boston wins and you still have the bulk of money to make a bigger hedge if Miami can somehow win.....

I understand that the guy made a longshot pick and probably wants to feel like he "won" something for picking a 300 to 1 shot who has made it this far and that is the ONLY reason I suggest the above.... personally I would just let it ride for now.

You got some options now.

You could set it up to guarantee you at least 2-4K. I agree with the notion of letting it ride though. Boston’s been a notorious choke in the playoffs the last 13-14 years and the West is wildly overrated. That being said, the C’s win the next couple, your options diminish and you could be stuck holding the ticket, but that’s gambling.

Rail,

1.) That’s some of the most “get off my lawn shit” I’ve ever heard, and I live in get off my lawn territory
2.) You’re probably right

I always think these are more lightly veiled brag bets than actually asking for help.

These people don't own a calculator? Haha
