Harry I had the same thing. Srip went from $30 to $300. I gave up on Blue Cross and had to go with Kaiser. My co-pays are outrageous but at least they cant deny me treatment

I'm not in here to engage in a political dick measuring contest. Just sharing my personal experience.

All I know is this year I was basically given one option by my employer, which was a plan that offered far worse coverage for far more money than years previous.

Went to get a script that used to be $9 and it's now $175.

Someone needs to fix this shit.
Were you able to keep your doctor or did you have to find a new one?

I kept my same PCP. It is in a super affluent area though, I doubt they are getting swamped by Obamacare folk.

I now basically have an emergency plan, so I will only see the doctor in an emergency, which is a change in mentality. Doctor likes to monitor my bloodwork because I have high triglycerides. No way I'm letting him take a vile of blood with my current plan - I'll end up getting a $300 bill I'm sure.

Healthcare is a mess, no doubt about it and it's obvious many factors determine what kind of coverage a person gets. I've been fortunate to have a job where my employer is able to get decent coverage for us, but I've also done my part to keep myself healthy as Ive gotten older which has helped keep our costs down. I take cholesterol meds and my wife takes high blood pressure meds, both of which are preventative meds so they cost us nothing! I had a colonoscopy last November and it didn't cost a thing again because it's preventative. These are some of the good things about Obamacare but this also caused other meds to skyrocket like yours did and Boss's did. Hopefully the Republicans come up with a better plan. Time will tell.

I had the privilege of presenting to the Trump administration on several occasions leading up to the potential vote on Ryan's healthcare initiative. Our firm also presented to the Obama administration leading into the ACA roll out, although I wasn't present at those meetings. I think it's important to note, whatever people think about any administration in power, they are backed by some of he best minds in any field, issue or topic. Granted, these resources may be handcuffed by party lines, political BS, etc., but they are well aware of the issues with any sort of bill or reform they propose.

Our firm actually thought Trump wouldn't even back Ryan's plan since it was abundantly clear to anyone close to the matter that the bill was an utter disaster. During our initial two sessions, Trump was oddly quiet with the media on the topic and his advisors present at the meetings were in agreement about the massive shortfalls of the bill and the potential catastrophic long term implications. We actually thought he'd let Ryan fall on the sword and maybe get a little egg on the face for having to admit he had no plan for HC, but point to the massive issues with the ACA, potential massive issues with Ryan's plan and the complexities of healthcare as to why they don't have a reasonable plan in place yet, which would ultimately be understandable.

Not sure what changed, but the following week he did finally back the bill and begin pressuring the Republicabs to support it. Ultimately he didn't get it done, but that's a huge win for his administration. The bill was so horrifically bad it would have hung with his name and legacy long after he was gone. Sure, he gets a bit more egg on the face than simply not supporting it by showing he had no plan, which was given no matter what, showing an inability to negotiate/persuade votes, but ultimately those are minor concerns compared to the issues the administration would have faced if it passed.

Ironically, what became unbundently clear was the administrations dealings with Democrats appears to likely pale in comparison to the dealings with the Freedom Caucus members. Sure, there are plenty of spineless, crybaby Democratic officials, but some, possibly many would likely work with Trump on many issues. The Freedom Caucus seems intent on blocking anything and everything unless it derives from one of their own, which Trump is clearly not. That's an interesting group of people to say the least.

What exactly were you presenting? A point by point analysis of the House leadership plan?

Agree they dodged a huge bullet thanks to the HFC guys. Although even if they supported it, I bet others in GOP wouldn't have done so. It's just easier to let someone else take the heat for not supporting a bill. Why you often hear that it was close or 5-10 votes away, well even when votes go down pretty much everyone has an idea how short it is going to be so there is no need to vote against something if others are going to do so anyway.

The Freedom Caucus are in a tough spot, they're the only guys willing to admit that the healthcare system we've had since the 1940's doesn't really work anymore and we need to get back to a free market as much as we possibly can. But if they went full throttle and articulated that to people, it would likely be soundly rejected by large portions of the population.

The majority of Americans want their kids on their plans until they are 26, good luck telling them that insurance needs to be decoupled from employment.

Why won't you answer my question. Obviously nothing is the same for everyone but you won't tell me your reason why you can't keep your doctor. All you are doing is throwing out the same thing everyone says. I just want to hear the specific reason why your doctor will no longer see you. Why won't you give me an answer? Like I said earlier, I know no one that lost their doctor but that doesn't mean people didn't because I know they did. At least I keep hearing they did, but why can't anyone give me a specific reason why? Just saying all insurance companies and doctors want nothing to do with Obamacare is not an answer. I want to know specifically why your doctor won't treat you anymore.

people lose their doctors who no longer take their patient's insurance plan. or doctors that used to take medicare/medicaid might just say fuck it and pay cash only.

I will toss-in my experience with healthcare.
I think, these issues have mostly to do with low-low middle income people (single persons in my experience).

pre-Obamacare:

My girlfriend who lost her job (McDonald's worker)do to injury, and had no insurance.
She was given Medicaid from the welfare office ( free minimal health coverage) and she went to my PCP, since she never had one.
things went fine for about a year. most tests and lab-work was done. Rx's were free to $2.00.

post-Obamacare:

Her Insurance was changed/replaced to something called Blue Cross Keystone First.
that's
when she was informed as of Jan 01,2017, she would have to get a new PCP,
as they weren't set-up to take this Insurance.

So, with my experience, it seems you can probably keep your Dr., If you aren't in the poor-scale of America.
I am going to GUESS, that's probably the same issue with the California coverage's.
(probably the "Medicaid equivalent Medi-Cal "switched name to Covered California Plans".)

research: Medi-Cal is health coverage, just like the coverage from Covered California health plans.

that was the only reason given to her, as why she couldn't keep her Dr. and must get a new PCP.
nothing about the law, as it is. - If they accepted Keystone First, she could've kept her Dr.

Another clown who only cares about himself and wants to talk sh*t. I dont owe you any explanations but here it is. I am self employeed and had a lapse in my insurance. Boiler room calls and says that I can get my same exact plan back and keep my doctor. Now why dont you do some research online and tell me that you have found out that insurance companies are pulling out in droves and doctors are not accepting patients. The Obamma Care was a lie and no you cant keep your doctor and no it is not the "same"

Your profession of sucking cocks at the local glory hole for a pimp qualifies as self employed? You are too much.

Amazing isn't it? All these guys did last night was talk about me while final four games were on. Acebb first thing in the morning lies about my records after he quit posting picks after his famous 0-9 run. Boss doesn't update his NBA record for 5 months(4-11 ytd). They can't function without me. All Vitterd all the time. Poor mountain is following me everywhere and refreshing every minute waiting on my posts.

They better hope healthcare gets fixed....the all need Vitterd therapy.

I didn't post any "lies" about your record. You are a loser, it is documented.

Further, there was no 0-9 run. You made that up, you're a liar.

Speaking of lies:

Thanks. Last post of the year. The people who kiss mod ass can run free now. Guys bashing me all over the forum get no punishment at all....but my responses do.

I wont be.....and you can book it.

That's why lying looks like, clown.

Sounds like you had an awesome time at the Final 4, arguing with strangers on the Internet, posting losing picks and posting here at 8am.

It is the same people derailing the threads. You have a poster in here grinding because they dont believe doctors wont take Obamma Care. I mean its either confrontational or completely clueless.
