Aloha Gang...Ok, if you remember, I started several threads like this one last season, for everyone here to benefit from....The tread will cover some info, insights, and other things which, may not be known, but which is related to the Hawaii Warriors upcoming game...Plus, since this game is the only one on the board for Friday and it is a Nationally televised one as well, I felt that it would be a perfect time for me to start a tread again....This is done only with the intention of helping and sharing what I know regarding the Warriors with anyone interested and nothing else...I also invite others to also share what they know regarding both of these teams, to post it for all of us as well...

To begin...in the Warrior last game vs SJST they suffered more injuries to starting key personal both on the Def and the Offense....

-On Offense...SB S Poumele (Hawaii's 5th leading receiver...who avg's 11.7 ypc, and has 2 TDs this year) suffered a broken arm and is out..
-On Defense...DE Purcell...Hawaii's Best lineman, who leads the team in sacks, TFL, and QB hurries, left the SJST game with an injury to his lhest...His status is unknown at this time....I will confirm his status for this game later...

There are many more players out and banged up going into this one and I will post the info....

I don't see how Hawaii covers this spread CC. Boise St. scored 33 points in a hailstorm last night against a decent team. Boise St. has a decent enough defense. Hawaii doesn't travel well and won't like the cold weather in Idaho.

FYI:

Hawaii's QB Timmy Chang...only needs 241 yards passing to tie Ty Detmer's All Time Career Passing Yardage Record of 15,031....

Timmy is focused on getting this record, but not for his glory...but because it will help promote the Warriors Football program...as well as, bring recognition to all the other players and coaches who have helped him in making this achievement possible....This record is not important to him personally, but he recognized how big a deal it is and how important it is for him to get the record in this Friday's game...because of the National TV exposure that it will bring to the Warrior Program.

quantum...I havent yet decided if I am playing this game at all....and I do agree with your opinions you stated above regarding this game....I am just using this thread to post some info and insights on Hawaii, which others may not have, and which hopefully will provide everyone some useful benefit one way or another in this game...Thats all...Thanks for sharing your opinion on this one though....CC.

I love Boise -21. This line will climb once the public catches wind almost half of UH's starting D is out or doubtful. Chang is still a little tender and one hit on his non-throwing shoulder and he is out. Justin Ah Yat (Hawaii kicker) is horrible away from home and will do a couple missed fgs and bothed xp's.

Long travel for UH (they have to make several connections to such an obscure destination), short week, to the altitude, cold, and possible light winter weather.

Boise is focused on crashing the BCS and will want an impressive victory on a Friday night isolated ESPN game.

Boise rolls, 45-17.

CC,

I don't know if 21 is enough as BSU on a roll but if 'Bows can continue to create TO's they can hang in. Only BYU and Tulsa pressed BSU and created TO's. If 'Bows as banged up on defense as you say, they would be hard pressed to do the same. I want to wait till Wednedsay to get full scope of injuries and see how weather shakes out though. Do keep us posted.

I see the total started out at 72.5 and is now down to 71. I can see this one going over 72.5 if the game were played on the rock but I wonder if the Warriors can score 30 points in Boise. Anyone have any other thoughts on the total?

Maybe taking it at 71 and buying back later at a lower number would be a way to go as well.

would have to agree with most opinions here...Boise played OK and beat Fresno pretty good...Hawaii's run defense is so bad (and was again last night)...don't know if I'll play it, but I don't see how I can play Hawaii at this point

FYI:

One situation in this game that is developing, which makes me a little weary if considering backing the Warriors even with all the pts....is the fact that all the talk around Bronco town and on ESPN will be on Timmy Chang's attempts to break this highly prestigious passing yardage record set 13 years ago by BYU's Heisman QB Ty Detmer,...and not so much on Boise St's attempts to get to a BCS game....The spotlight this Friday will be mostly on the visiting team and their QB, and less on the Nationally Ranked Home Team....I feel that all this hype on Chang, will only provide Boise with more anger and motivation then they already usually have....I can already see Boise getting pumped up and setting a DEF goal of completely shutting Chang down....The House should be rockin and the crowd will be very loud, which should help their cause as well...Boise will definately not want Chang to break the record off of their Defense and especially not on their field...I hate to think it, but Chang and the Warrior Offense could be walking into a very volitile situation, which is never a good thing, and especially not when playing at one of the Nations toughest venues...

This hype that Chang will get in Boise...reminds me of when Ty Detmer was hyped up all week long in Hawaii, prior to the Saturday that he was to win the Heisman Award, and also play a game against the Warriors....I remember how sick and tired the Warriors football team was getting seeing and hearing and reading all the interviews he was giving before the game....Then on game day....he accepted his Heisman award on live National TV, a few hours before the game with the Warriors.....Well, guess what happened to him and the Cougars a few hours later......Yeap, after winning College Football's highest award, Ty and the Courgars were totally humiliated and demolished by a motivated and focused Warrior team on National TV 59-28, and this extra motivation and focus to shut Ty down...was entirely fueled on by the hype he was getting from the media......I have a feeling the same situation may develop here in Boise on Friday, and this could result in Timmy and the Warriors experiencing the same faith that TY and the Cougars experienced on that dreadful Saturday here in the islands...:scared:

Co-Captain,

Did I mention that you are the man? Good points here...In watching both the Fresno/ Boise game and Hawaii/ San Jose St. game one thing stands out: Hawaii's inability to stop the run...Fresno was able to keep it close at least because they tackle well and have a good front seven with safety help...Hawaii does not have a prayer in stopping the run...still not saying I will bet Boise at this point, but I can't advocate a Hawaii play here at all.

FYI: THIS INFO OFF SUBJECT, BUT I THOUGHT I SHARE IT...

Double-digit road favorites

Double-digit home underdogs went 9-0 against the spread last week and 21-5 over the previous three weeks. Now some of the major favorites aren’t just struggling, they’re losing as UAB (17) lost at Tulane 59-55 and Florida (-25) lost at Mississippi State 38-31. This week the road favorites went 3-4 ATS.

Thanks for all the INFO..Unbelievable the amount

of knowledge you spit out on this forum. It is definitley an intresting read.

I tried to warn you off La.Tech last week, but oh well...win some, lose some.
After you posted that huge writeup on why Tech was the pick, I knew there was no going back for you.

I had a horrible weekend. This happens to me every year at some point during the middle or late in the season. I'll go 2-11 and get killed. It seems like everybody got killed this weekend that I know of. The only game that saved me was Boise St in the Second Half and they won by 1/2 a pt.

The fact that Hawaii can't stop the run and got killed by UTEP (which is a pretty good team by the way) leads me to believe that the RainBow Warriors are in for a thrashing. No offense to you and your team, but I need a win and Boise looks like a great pick. I'm sure the line will be move up about 2.5 to 3 pts before kickoff.

Anyway good luck the rest of the season.

Tiger...I hope you got on my other BIG GAME PLAY on NEVADA.....That game made up for the La Tech loss big time as I played Nev all over the place...at the game , 1st half, Over , 2nd Hf , and on a Teaser with Boise....I went 5-1 just off of my Nevada play....

Anyways....this one vs Boise St well, I am still looking at it....damn I love all them points, I cant remember when Hawaii was ever such a big dog....Last time was last season to USC....not sure when else this happened.

I am taking a deeper look at the BYU vs Boise St game....as BYU is similar to Hawaii, in that they dont have a run game, but do have a Top ranked pass attack....which shredded Boise's Secondary, where they are Weak...and ranked 2nd to last in the Conf against the pass....Still though....BYU lives on the mainland and Hawaii doesnt and the weather and traveling does screw up the local boys who lives in constant 80 + degree weather and dont take to airplanes travel to well....and they do have a better Def than Hawaii's

Anyways...I will have more info and insights later...I am glad you enjoy what I try to provide here for everyone....and I appreciate you letting me know how you feel....Much Mahalos and Aloha CC.:)

Fat...thanks for sharing this info....but the Injury report for Hawaii is not accurate...missing some current players who got injured in the SJST game....One of them is SB Se'e Puomele who is out with a broken arm...

Still also need to check on the status of DE Purcell, DE Akpan, and LB Moe all got banged up in last weeks game...will confirm if the will be available for this game...These are four starters and if they all are gone...this will be a HUGE HUGE loss....Stay tuned.
