When this started ramping up a month ago and I was comparing the US to the far east countries, the biggest concern I had was our lack of social cohesion, shared sacrifice, economic fragility, narcissism (I could probably find a post from 3-4 weeks ago on this).....This has all been building since the 60's really. And really I gotta say, all of those things are even worse than I thought. America is kindof a joke in a lot of ways. One giant strip mall bubble.

So hopefully the virus fades sooner than later for whatever reason it is, because this soft ass debt laden me first country can't handle anything else.

politicians, especially trump, will be boasting about the number of people saved by shutting down the country while his opponent will point to the unemployment line as the harm he caused. it will be drilled into your head for the next 7 months

my hope is that the govt knew something they aren't telling us and they NEEDED to shut it down to save millions. one possibility is that China grossly underreported deaths of the virus which might explain why 20M less Chinese have a cell phone subscription today vs Jan 1

we have it better it terms of just about every facet of life enjoying comforts, luxuries, and conveniences that our grandparents and great grandparents could never imagine.

thus we are spoiled and the biggest offense that most these days will ever encounter is the assault of "fake news" from the rival news station or website.

Not really conspiratorial but ruling class has gotten incredibly good at divide/conquer while pillaging the masses via all sorts of financial repression schemes as well as various institutions that fail to foster upward mobility, throw in the heterogeneous demographics that have been growing since the 60's, the internet which allows people to do the exact opposite of steelman every opinion they have, just the normal trajectory of a prosperous society growing old and weak etc etc...You could write a book about it.

I've barely even begun to hash out my thoughts on it as I'm not much of a culture warrior and even I find it jarring. What can you do? Atleast SPY up.

Besides all of this noise he’s been wrong about....He legit said Lamar Jackson couldn’t throw, wasn’t smart enough, didn’t have the IQ to play QB, couldn’t read defenses, wasn’t accurate. And that exact player wins the MVP award the following season. Think about that for a second.
