lol I was just gonna post a message asking you if you think I screwed the pooch on this one.

95 is a lot more than the first 2 made............ and it's goin against Shreks 3rd week........ but the buzz is still huge........ the reviews are great..... it did AWESOME in Britain..... people bring their kids to scary movies all the time, but you're right, some parent won't go to this one, might wait til video or somehing who knows... But, it does look cool in the previews, it might bring in a lot more older peeps. I'm going to see it, although I saw the first two, and liked them. I think it could go over 100 million.

As far as I can remember, HP3 has had the most advanced sales here with the exception of The Passion"

strong pre-sales are always a good sign.

"I ditto mforce's comments. Advanced sales have been strongest for HP3 for this entire year. We don't usually sell out shows days in advance, but I believe the 7:00 show on Friday is sold out already, and that's in our biggest 400-seat theater. Last time we've had this much demand for a movie in advance was for ROTK and Matrix: Reloaded. Shrek 2 had no advanced sales really, it just blew up on us at the last minute."

Oren, for this movie to make 80 million theaters would have to be sold out in advance. 80 million is a lot of money. Now 95 million is tons. A few pre sales for one or two theaters in Houston doesn't forecast what a movie is going to make that has the possiblitly of making 75 to 100 million. Anything over 60 million is going to show heavy ticket sales. Not reliable if u ask me. I think you're just trying to make yourself feel better. I sense you're nervous, that you head is on the cutting block on this one.

come on you gota admit that selling out a 10:45 am showing is a good sign. and the 10 a.m. showing is already half sold! that means that all the shows at that theater might sell out the ENTIRE DAY. thats pretty impressive... if Shrek didn't do any presales, and Potter is having strong pre-sales, you gotta think maybe Potter could do just as good as Shrek. and it's playing in 200 theaters more than the last one so far...

yes. thanks for reminding me, though. It doesn't matter, since I'm going to win the bet anyways. so I could have won a few more bucks if I waited, big deal.

next time, since you seem to know which way they're gonna move, how about you inform me when the lines open, that way I won't have to piss all that money away.

I've seen them move up, and up, and then they raise the line by a million bucks and reset it, then it still goes up. so what do you want?

Day After Tomorrow had 2 Midnight showings and none sold out."

more morning and afternoon sell-outs are being reported, more than the Day After Tommorrow. and here's a quote:
"Theaters aren't the problem an extra 400 means little, it's screen counts. And those numbers have been reported up to 9000, which is 500 more then SHRK2 recieved. "
more prints for Potter than Shrek? maybe I can still win Potter -3 million over Shrek.

111 million+? how much did Spiderman make, 114? it's possible.

by the way, I just found out that the adjusted weekend gross for the first Potter movie was around 98-100 million bucks. If I had known that I would have bet more on the over 103 +175, it was a no-brainer, especially with the overseas success that was already in the news. I had no idea that the ticket prices had inflated that much so fast.
