I was never a dog guy but after having one for the last 6 months...I'l admit they are pretty cool once they quit pissing on everything.

But I don't believe they are truly that intelligent. I've seen my dog eat another dogs Shite...

Honestly how many dogs get lost everyday in North America...but one gets lucky and makes it from Dayton to Springfield and the world is amazed by the intelligence of the species...

more people care about this then the guy who was jumped by 8 guys at valleyfair amusement park 20 minutes from where i live. he was defending his 12 year old daughter who got her ass grabbed and 8 people beat him unconscious, probably will have permanent damage.

I 100% agree with that GTC . One thing that bothers me if were going to make dog welfare close to that of humans we should crack down on dog owners, about 10% or more of these ppl abuse their dogs imo.

I use to live on a dead end street, was a huge 20 acres field at the end. The guy beside me had a dog not once in 5years did it ever get walked by him or the kids. Its was locked up in the backyard 24/7 with pretty much zero interaction. They would leave the dog poop so u couldnt even enjoy your backyard from the smell. Always wondered why would you ever get dog in the first place if your gonna be like that.

its an amusement park scott l. its a family park, shouldn't have to be watching your back at that type of area. i was actually surprised to see that happened here, but not shocked since i've been there before. the security of the park consists of 18 year old high school seasonal employees who i don't believe would face 8 guys at once. hell if i was security i wouldnt either.

Gtc I don't know your area so I can only comment based upon what you wrote. You said "shouldn't have to be watching your back" and immediately followed it with "not shocked" and a statement about the INsecurity [lack of safety] at the park. You are contradicting your own argument. Please know I am not saying a family outing at an amusement park should not have an expectation of safety. But you are revealing it did not.

what i dont get is why more people are focusing on this guy killing a dog then a guy beating practically killed in a family amusement park. more people are outraged over the dog then the guy defending his daughter.

I was wondering if this story makes anyone as sad or angry as me. Enough so that you're having a great day, and you read something like this and no matter what you just can't put it in the back of your mind and it just eats at you.



This happened last night. I had finally finished with some things I'd been meaning to do over the All Star Break. I was in a great mood, and unlike others who crave the action, I enjoy the 3 days of relaxation.



I turned on Primetime Live and the story was about kids with Tourettes. Now that in itself made me well up but it's something that might stay with me for a few minutes afterward.



But during a commercial break there was a 'teaser' for the 11 0'clock news that went as follows -- "Coming up at 11, a Delaware County man is in jail tonight on animal cruelty charges for killing his wife's 3 year old dog with a sword."



Making it worse was they showed a picture of the dog and his eyes were identical to my best buddy Sam, a 16 YO border collie I had to put down 2 years ago. It's nearly 24 hours later and I still feel heartbroken for the poor dog. AND I'm enraged that this son of a bitch's greatest 'fear' now is not the loss of his freedom or the merciless beating that he deserves, but the loss of a wife he cares little about. I WANT HIM TO SUFFER!

I like most animals more than I like most people, so when I see things like this it really gets to me.

I would love to personally administer this motherfucker's punishment.
