the worst for a title changing play was the phantom PI call on Miami in the Ohio State game. that was absolutely brutal and probably kept Miami from having the tag of greatest CFB run of all time. That ended a huge winning streak (34 straight?) that still sits as the longest since the 50's of major college teams. They also went 7-0 before losing the following year so should have been a streak into the 40's

the one I felt worst for was a "play in" game was Ireland getting hosed in the France playoff match to get into WC with Henry's intentional hand ball setting up the winning goal. But would have still required Ireland to either score or win in penalties and they would have gotten smoked in the actual WC. Tuck rule a close 2nd...i still don't understand that one after 150 replays

the penalty box is that white rectangle that surrounds the goal

now if the penalty happens between that white line and the goal, that's inside the penalty box

but if the little white line is between the mark of the penalty and the goal, then it's outside the penalty box




Maybe the poor dude was confused with the fair vs foul line in baseball, give him a break already. Y'know, if a ball it's the foul line, it's obviously foul

wow someone doesn't understand the penalty box and the 6-yard box to the degree that they'll come to a sports forum and argue it's not penalty when a foul occurs inside the penalty box but outside the 6-yard box?

the standout call(s) to me in that WC was the calls in Korea vs Spain. Spain scored a perfectly good goal right at the start of extra time and linesman called it over the end line before it was crossed in for the header. Then, at 0-0 and down 3-4 in penalties the Korean keeper is allowed to jump out 10 feet off his line to cut the angle down. But the Spain disallowed goal in 92nd was pathetic.
