I'm thinking we have a different perception about what a "wave" looks like.

1994 was a wave

2010 was a wave

Losing 1000 federal and state incumbents is a wave, like what happened during the Obama years

Three incumbents losing in very close elections during a pandemic induced mail in voting year is not a wave. Especially when you pick up 11 or so house seats and don't lose the state legislators

This was initiated by a pandemic and finished off by false allegations of systemic racism and white supremacy

Unprecedented poppycock

PS: I concur, both Trump and Mitch may have shot themselves in the foot recently. But it's not like our media covers anything honesty anyhow. The democrats have skeletons in their closets, the media just barricades the doors for them.

Of course it's no wave but the reality is control is one sided now and we will be paying out of pocket for that - for years and years to come

Not 1? That’s a reach
Well, I am talking about the same people bitching about Democrats with little to know answer or understanding to why things are the way they are .Or without much of an answer on how to fix it other than the same nonsense typical Republicans have preached beofre

Jeez Patsfan, your 35-1 Giants bet! What a brutal way to lose!! Eagles gave up! I feel for you! Horrible!!

Lol nah, I hedged heavy on Redskins and was able to clean up. I had to wait for the Giants to beat Dallas to do so then I got Skins at -290 after the Sudfeld news came out rather than the -130 open so hedge wasn’t nearly as good as it should’ve been but still worked out OK.

no way could you hold that after sudfeld news

I say it all the time but obviously it’s a slow bleed and there are more pressing issues at any
given time, it’s more of a long term thing.

Also, it is not the easiest point to make in polite company. I think that’s why all this Qanon/deep state stuff took off is because as bizarre as some of that stuff sounds, it mostly gets laughed off by most people. Saying US is cooked because we decided to change the population over the last 50 years is a bit untenable in polite society

You see they voted down affirmative action in CA? Atleast it’ll be funny watching these loosely tied together coalitions eat each other.

People just don't realize what happened here - they had this election six weeks ago - Purdue won by 90,000 votes with a Libertarian on the ticket sucking off his votes - six weeks later he loses by 16,000 votes???

Republicans are better off focusing on the House. They had a pretty good election there.

They were going to lose the Senate in 2022 pretty decisively anyway. They'll be fortunate to have 45 seats in there after the 2022 election.

Covid killed the Republicans......it was actually a pretty clever plan to play it the way the Democrats did.

Its all in cycles.......but this ballot harvesting / mail voting needs some laws written or it will have to get really bad for the middle class before the soccer moms and soy boys change their views and voting habits.

If mail in voting persists going forward - blacks will have 100% turnout

I would rather it be this way.
Expedite what was ultimately coming anyways.

Policies matter, both Clinton an Obama were totally destroyed two years after their elections by misreading the electorate. If you want to see what a political wave looks like, research the results of 1994 and 2010

Obama may have been the most rejected POTUS in American history, he lost 63 house seats and 8 Senate seats during his term. Trump lost 30 and 2, respectively. Obama lost 1,000 democrats at the federal and state levels, he lost control of the governors and he even lost control of the state legislators. Yet our media holds him up to be some successful political genius. He set the democratic party back significantly. Obama actually gave us Trump

In 1994, the revolution against extreme left wing policies gave the Republicans 54 House seats and 8 Senate seats

In 2010, extreme left wing policies and Obamacare gave the Republicans 63 House seats and 7 Senate seats. Obama even lost the Kennedy's legacy seat, although Warren reclaimed it two years later

1994 and 2010, that's what a wave looks like, way way way worse than anything the happened to the GOP under Trump

If Biden makes the same mistakes they made, 2022 will look like 2010 & 1994. (unless unverifiable mail in voting becomes the new norm, but maybe the GOP will figure out how to game the system by then)

How were Clinton and Obama easily re-elected in 96 and 12. Not sure of a red wave when remains blue at the top

The map is stacked against Republicans in 2022. It's as simple as that, as far as the Senate is concerned. The Democrats will almost certainly grow their Senate advantage by simply playing offense.

I guess the House is up for debate. It'll be interesting to see if a red wave comes back, but I doubt it. Demographics are changing in this country to heavily favor the Democrats for the foreseeable future, and it's hard to see Biden doing anything radical enough to spark some sort of resurgence from Republicans.

He can govern pretty mediocrely and it won't matter. He needs a combination of horrible policy and be more of polarizer than Trump; even if the policy sucks, it's going to be tough for him to be even half as polarizing of a person as Trump.

The 2022 map and the 2010 map are exactly the same, it's as simple as that

2010 + 6 = 2016
2016 + 6 = 2022

Clinton moved to the right. Signed Newt's welfare reform he previously vetoed twice. After that, he even signed Newt's budget which democrats opposed but took credit for the surpluses it created (Clinton could take credit, he signed it)

Obama was elected in 2008 by winning just about every demographic. 2012 was a different story, he won with a very large urban vote that gave him a 90% + margin in key states.

Neither of their reelections changes the fact that they suffered to two biggest bitch slappings in modern day presidential history in their first mid-terms

Republicans defending more of those seats though this time around.

They won't have the opportunity to overturn anything in the Senate. Democrats controlling the Senate after 2022 was/is the safest politcal bet you can make.

Haha, of course they're in trouble

So those sweeping victories 12 years ago mean nothing

Compounded by the fact they won in 2016 means nothing, nope

If Biden goes to the whacked out left over the next two years, Republicans are in trouble

History be damned, those wepbuwicans won't win whistime

How many of those 2010 Senate seats that were up for grabs were already held by Republicans?

They already lost control and are going to be playing a lot of defense in 2022. It will take some all-time awful policy and terrible behavior from Biden to turn the tide back red.

I don't think it will be too difficult for him to pull that off. Especially if he's going to remain a pawn of the far left loons in the party. Like his VP.
