I'm usually the first one to stand up against police brutality, but honestly I don't think the officer did anything wrong here. Yeah he may have lost his cool too fast, but the way that lady was acting on a busy road, it really wasn't out of line imo. Who cares that she is a great-grandma? It's not like she has a walker or something... she was speeding, acted like an ass, and resisted arrest. Book her!

Have to agree with this post completely. I usually side against the cops, but didn't an 88 year old shot at people today at Holocaust museum?

You guys are missing the point. She's 72 years old and a great-grandmother?!

That's an average birth in the family when you're 18 years old! For 4 generations!!!

The bulk of that video clip is pretty run of the mill. But for sure the Money Shot when she starts to wail under the electric current pretty much makes it all worthwhile.

The cop should have EASILY been able to cuff the old bitty, without needing the TASER. I do think she was looking for a lawsuit, and may get a settlement out of this.

Imagine if the woman was Black !

When I first saw the video, I thought the cop was right, but after reading this post, I agree - he lost his cool. Sometimes cops think it is their duty to teach people a lesson, but they are there to enforce the law. First, he could have noted on the ticket that she refused to sign it, dropped it in her car and went on his way. People refuse to sign tickets everyday, and there is a protocol to follow. Next, once she was out of the car, she said should would sign the ticket, he should have just let he do it and went on his way.

I agree Rick. It's not a cop's job to teach people a lesson when they lose their temper, especially something as minor as this. People don't deserve to get tased because they are in a bad mood and swear.

As Doug mentioned, he could have handled the situation without tazing her. She's an adult. She knows how to look for oncoming traffic before walking around the cop to get in her truck. He wasn't saving her from anything.

I agree the cop was in the right. She was a raving bitch defying authority and deserved everything she got. For those who said "just whip her around and cuff her" what happens when he whips her around to cuff her and breaks her arm?? Want to talk about a firestorm.

I would be embarassed if that was my mom and my first comment to her when I bailed her out of jail would be.."what the fuck were you thinking. No wonder why dad is a raging alcoholic"

Cop was right in this instance as far as I'm concerned. The lady was resisting arrest and knew full well she would be tased if she kept it up. Too bad. If you want to act like that and not obey the cop then you deserve it no matter how old you are.

Resisting arrest? Um, what was she being arrested for? I thought this was a traffic stop and not an armed burgulary - she said, "Give me fucking ticket and I'll sign it!" - then the gutter rat pig got all excited and pushed her and tased her - I GUARANTEE YOU THAT THE CITY SETTLES A LAWSUIT FOR NOTHING SHORT OF 500K - just let that fucking pigs conduct go to a jury and the city will go broke with the resulting verdict - he's fired and she's getting a nive pay day

^ I wouldn't go that far. Alot of cops are good meaning people who don't get off on tasing great grandmas. That said, there is a large minority of psychopathic police officers who want everyone to lick their boots and treat the general public as a slave.

Either way this is just another example of why every citizen should exercise their 2nd ammendment. You can't depend on individuals like this piece of filth to protect you and your family.

Seymour, refusing to sign a traffic ticket is an arrestable offense in Texas and in most other states as well.

F*ck her. It is resisting arrest. Her age is not relevant. To say it is something minor is a joke. You might say what if it was your grandmother? What if it was your brother the cop and the lady had a weapon? Should we only taser men between the ages of 20-30 who are in good shape? On a side note, she obviously had issues as to react the way she did.
