Wow! My league has been doing this longer than anyone I ever met. About 35 years. We wrote our own damned rules because the rules at the time were basic simple and boring for any leagues that existed. Those early years wee a lot of fun. Most had no idea what I was talking about when I told them I played Fantasy Football. There were no websites. There was only one magazine. And the major sports sites and networks and newspapers and sports magazines gave FF no print. None!

Anyway, the guys in the league I play in are very sharp. I might not get R, St Brown in the fourth round for instance. He may already be gone by the time I pick at 4-9 (#45).

Good luck, Chop. Bring us that sleeper of yours.
The days of calling the guys in the league for their starting lineup and waiting for the newspaper on monday to do the scoring haha

My draft is next Tuesday (10-man league), I do a $50 penalty for anyone that finishes last at the end of the season and playoffs, keeps everyone playing, especially the bottom 6 teams not to finish the season in bottom 4 spots, then they have their own playoffs, all they gotta do is win 1 of those playoff games, lol

Yep. Those were the days. Another veteran of the game. We had a first come first served waiver system. I'd get that paper when it came off the truck in a city next to where it was published. Would pour through the box scores to see who was getting hot that I might pick up. We also developed a fairly sophisticated scoring system but me and a few other guys had it memorized and I could score my game in my head. Lots of fun. I miss those days to tell you the truth.

Even the draft. I hosted it at my house for years, We had a ball. Everyone needed thick skin 'cause the shit flew back and forth. Tonight we're doing Zoom. Just not the same.

I was not aware that a QB throwing an INT negatively impacts a WR stats . Thanks for the info
I mean, Winston was a pretty good fantasy QB when he had the best receiving duo in the league.

Even if my boy Olave pans out, the Saints shouldn't be a team you're looking to fill up on fantasy receivers from lol

Have been doing this since 1978..I think we are the 2nd oldest documented league in the US. We are scoring only, and have basically had the same 10 guys for all 44 seasons..we are a keeper league, protect 7 at each draft, we divide our season into 2 halves with a champ each half..costs 100 each week and 220 before each half for overall.!st each week is 600 2nd is 300 and 3rd is 100..each half is 1500 for Ist , 500 for second and 200 for 3rd..had Joe Montana and Peyton Manning their whole careers, made me a lot of money..my 1st QB was Vince Ferragamo...lol..I can still remember waking up Monday mornings to get the paper to see who scored in the afternoon games..we have come a long way

It was probably frustrating having Walter Payton run up and down the field only to see William the fridge Perry getting the TD

I started in the early 90’s. I remember watching NFL prime time every Sunday at 7 to get an idea how my team was doing

I think 1999 was our first internet draft and it changed everything

Yes, I like scoring only..definitely changed the way I watch games. Love the Red Zone for that. The guy who started our league saw a Sports Illustrated article about the Oakland Raiders executives who started the 1st Fantasy League back in 1962 and thought it would be fun. We started at $5 a week..lol..now it is $100.
