My strategy in capping is typically focused on motivational factors. It has proven to be the most consistent method of winning for me over the years. Hybrid, if you want to hear someone talk about SAM blitzes, stunts, and how a certain spread offense will fare against some Tampa 2...I could, but the lines (in my opinion) typically do a good job of negating those talent differences. Where real value lies is when I feel like one team's heart or mind is not 100% into the game and the other team's is, and I honestly feel like having played professional ball, this is what I am the best and uncovering.

In any event, I wanted to start a dialogue with Rich Roid to see his thought process on game selection. He has responded, and for that, I am most appreciative.
The Rx is for the free flow exchange of ideas. Anything that will help each of us "beat the man." That's why it remains one of the best venues on the Net for this!

rich i think you are a 100percent right about mtivation but you have to look at whose ready to play a good game and whose not myself being a former college hoop player why one day did i make 20 3 pointers in row and next game could not throw the ball in the oceanyou cannot always play a great game so i look for good teams who had a couple of bad games ready to play good or bad teams playing over there head and bet against them thats why baseball is the way to go pitchers go through streaks you get on them you can cash alot good luk in football georgia andoaklahoma i like peace

Hey, Strike King, I wanted to address your post head-on. I presume you are addressing me indirectly with you spouting off with "FKN HATERS in here all you can do is try to bash the man or question his plays" line.
I want to set the record straight. I was merely asking Rich Roid's thought process behind the Oklahoma selection. That's all. Not hating or bashing. He made some incorrect assumptions about the "current" edition of the Canes, and I just wanted to correct him on that. That is what I was questioning. Is that bashing or hating? The team is NOT "full of thugs." Yes, at one time, the program was rife with "thugs" and "thug play." Last year of that crap was 2005 when the UM-FIU brawl at the O Bowl took place. The UM administration promptly "cleaned house" after that. HC Randy Shannon is a different animal, and is a very strict disciplinarian. Doesn't put up with that sort of nonsense or BS.
Truth is, I was lambasted in RR's MLB thread for "cheering him on" and offering words of encouragement while he's in the midst of a very deep chill in that sport.
So, contrary to what you think, I support Rich Roid's efforts to "beat the man!"

The University of Miami (FL) Hurricanes! :toast:
Tonight, they showed the sports nation that their image has changed for the better under the watchful eye of HC Randy Shannon. As the announcers said during the game, Shannon's dad was murdered when he was a toddler. As a result, he has instituted a zero tolerance policy on the team with regards to handgun possession. If a player is caught with a gun, he's dismissed immediately....no ifs, ands or buts. The "thug" image you alluded to is gone. Thankfully. Shannon only recruits atheletes with skill AND character.
Canes being 3-1 at this point in the season bodes extremely well for the future of this program. This program is on the rise with QB Jacory Harris. You must give the young man his props for his performance tonight.

First, let's see if Rich Roid comes back. He's probably still smarting from that Oklahoma loss to the Canes. If you read a page or two back, he was spouting off about the Sooners being the BEST team in the country and how they would "thrash" an unmotivated team full of "thugs" - e.g., the Canes.
Rich is still + units, so I predict he'll be back soon enough. :drink:
