Once again in case you missed it. I work a normal shift just like most people. I wear a uniform like a lot of workers do. I have weekends and holidays off. I earn 2.5 days off of paid leave per month and I answer to a supervisor just like others. I am subject to deployments but if I don't like that then I can separate.
My job really isn't different than most I'd venture to say.
Now now...it was not an act of terrorism. I'm pretty sure it was just some guy in a Camaro who was looking to change the radio station and didn't see my dear little Fluffy.
But I don't give a shit. From now on, I am scared shitless of any motor vehicles adorned with the Chevrolet symbol.
I know that most of you think that's crazy, but if I just stand quietly by while some guy claiming to be a "peaceful American businessman" sells Killer Cars in my hood, I don't think I could live with myself.
I'm contacting my local Congressmen and also Congressmen in states all the way across the USA to demand that they make a public statement either For or Against this proposed Chevy "dealership".
We'll know in short order just who is worthy of holding elected office in Boise ID and Sioux Falls SD

Petraeus Cites ‘Progress’ In Killing Taliban Guys For 10 Years Straight
War schlub David Petraeus did one of his “report cards to the Senate” things today, and he’s got good news! Despite never accomplishing* a single thing in 10 years of bloody, pointless, horrific boondoggle Central Asian warfare,
“It is only recently that we have gotten the inputs right in Afghanistan.”
Oh, now we get it! Afghanistan is like an old person trying to plug in an iPad. No, wait, the iPad wasn’t yet invented when we invaded Afghanistan. The iPhone? Nope. The Microsoft Zune? Ha ha, the Zune’s entire life has come and gone during just the second half (so far) of the Afghanistan occupation.
Well how about an old-school iPod, with Grampa (who was much younger then!) just cold confused over that weird Apple firewire plug? No, sorry. The invasion of Afghanistan began on October 7, 2001 — the first clunky iPod went on sale several weeks later, on October 23.

Anyway, progress is being made, even though Petraeus says whatever make-believe gains are “fragile and reversible.” Also, despite constantly killing “the Taliban” (poor Afgan guys who’ve watched their country be bombed by the United States for an entire decade), “the Taliban” continue to fight! * There has been an accomplishment, of sorts: Several invasions and many horrific torture revelations and “Camp X-Ray” and military tribunals and an entire decade of constant bombing of poor Muslims in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and probably a lot of other countries has created an entire generation of hundreds of millions of people, perhaps even billions, who hate America and will always hate America, because America is evil. And the most angry and desperate of these people will keep trying and occasionally succeed at bombing and otherwise murdering Americans in whatever possible way for rest of our lives.

Petraeus "Understands the Frustration" With Spending "Enormous Amounts of Money," But He'll Keep Spending It If You Let Him
When testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee, General David Petraeus told senators that he understood the frustration with the Afghanistan War, conceding that "we have spent an enormous amount of money."
The general has a gift for understatement.
We are spending $2 billion a week on this futile, brutal war that's not making us safer, and even that "enormous" amount of money (to say nothing of the lives lost or broken) hasn't hammered the square peg of a military solution into the round hold of the crisis in Afghanistan.
News flash: if you can't turn the war effort around with 30,000 more troops at a cost of $1 million per troop, per year, maybe the military solutions aren't solutions after all.
