People are traveling all summer. Cruise ships have been raising prices and still selling out, i know a buttload of people who traveled to Europe this summer. Been to plenty of restaurants this summer and they have been packed 90% of the time.

My views on consumer confidence overall are based on third parties that measure such things

Extraordinarily high food costs seem to be the primary reason

I do know travel is increasing and cruises are full, but that's after an extended slow down

while that's all nice it's also, really for the first time ever, almost entirely funded by credit cards. the swing in balances between CC's and savings has been insane for the past 2 years and they just announced more americans hold a credit card balance today than at any time since March 2020 with >50% of people rolling it over month by month. That $2000 cruise will be $5000 by the time they pay it off

and restaurants are closing by the hour
