If he is a decorated veteran, then he deserves respect for his service.
That being said, being a veteran doesn't mean that you're automatically not an asshat. I'm not saying he is. I'm just saying that it's kind of silly to say that someone isn't open to the same treatment as everyone else just because he comes on an internet forum and claims to be a war hero.

I already wrote the guy a PM a few days ago saying he had my fullest respect for defending our country and that I thought he could have handled the situation of him getting kicked off the list better than he did after our agreement.

I'm not going to "quote" that whole thing, but I will say that I respect your opinion.
It's not my intention to hold therx hostage. I'm just speaking my mind. I was aware I was going to get bashed, but I'm just tired of it dragging on. I was naive to think that I would be able to do this, come back and everything would go back to normal and I could resume posting like it never happened. It's a lesson learned for me.
I enjoy this board, and have been loyal to therx for a long time while getting offered money at multiple other forums to be a paid poster. I turned down a lot of offers and some half decent money over the years to stay at this site for free. I never said a word until now. I never emailed therx and said "can you match this" when I started getting offers about 18 months ago. So I've never held the RX hostage. I'm just speaking my mind. I'm not special or above anyone else, but I have made some sacrifices on my part and never mentioned it. So forgive me if I'm bothered by people turning their back on me. All I expected in return was a little courtesy or respect for my decision from some of the guys I've helped or became friends with along the way. I didn't want my ass kissed. I just expected that if I made a decision like this, although disappointing, it would be respected. Not by everyone. There are always idiots. But by the people that I've spoken with and respected over the last 4 years.
That hasn't happened at all, and it has turned me off.
I knew damn well there would be haters. There always are. But there is a core group of posters that have been here a long time and a few others that I got along with and enjoyed exchanging with. And those are the ones that bother me. I know deep down that if they had my opportunity they would take it. But they can't post consistent winners. So they make comments about me out of jealousy instead and act like they are above me and have "morals".
Lt. Dan I can give 3 craps about. He can do whatever he wants. I respect him for his service to our country, I don't respect him for being a backstabber and how handled our situation with no class. He wants to feel important, God Bless Him.
A poll was done in the rubber room. "Is Boxslayer really getting married". It's practically split. There are actually people who think I just made this whole thing up. Names on there of people who I have/had respect for.
As a side note, I will tell you right now....look at that poll, and every person that voted that I am not getting married and I made the whole thing up is a wannabe sharp. Fact.
As I said from day 1, the rx is a powerhouse. Whether or not I come back will have no bearing on this site. It's a runaway train and if I don't return I'll be mentioned in some "where are they now thread" 10 years from now. This site has always been fine and will always be fine.

I'm fine with everything you said, but you made an unnecessary and irrelevant point about this "Ras" being a great deal for ME.
Whether or not RAS is a God at capping makes no difference. When a guy approaches me with a deal, and says he understands if I don't want to make the deal but figured he would try anyways, and I make an exception and do it on good faith and we make a DEAL AS MEN, and he turns around and posts those plays on a public forum, he is in the wrong. That is a classless move. Marine or not.
He can try and justify what he did anyway he wants to. If it was just a regular person on the list that paid for the plays and did it, I'd say that shit happens. But not when you make a deal like that.

"The people on my list are obviously also losing, but at the very least they receive writeups and about handicapping fundamentals. They understand WHY I am choosing a certain side, they understand that we are putting ourselves in high percentage situations and sometimes high percentage situation plays lose. That's why we're gambling. They realize I am a 60% capper over 400 plays and everyone has hot and cold 15 play sample sizes. I haven't had 1 ball bounce my way yet and we aren't even haldway done with the season yet. If that high percentage Temple under stayed under, it's a winning bowl season right now, and that's a fine line between winning and losing so far. There is a long way to go, and unlike you amateurs, you don't hit the panic button after 16 plays when you're not even halfway through a season. Ask GoSooners who had one of the worst starts I have ever seen, but he is a good capper with good fundamentals and it always wins out.

As much as I think kids are babied these days, the kid had a concussion. That is a serious brain injury. No reason to lock a kid in that condition going to that institution to try and get an education, in an electrical closet for hours. If he had a broken finger, it'd be a different story and I'd say the kid is a puss. But you don't mess with concussions.
And if I were Mike Leach, I'd be a little smarter not to mess with the guy who works for ESPN and the media has his back.
