NY Mets/ San Diego Under 7 (-125)
Two pathetic offenses in this one, should lead to a low scoring game. The Padres come in averaging just 1.7 rpg in their last 10 games, while they have scored just 2.9 rpg on the road. The Mets have averaged 3.8 rpg in their last 10 games, but 7 of those were on the road and they have scored just 2 runs in their last home games and 3.12 rpg at home for the year. Now these two sorry offenses will take on a couple of hot pitchers as Bartolo Colon comes in with a 1.35 ERA in his last 3 starts, while Andrew Cashner has a 1.59 ERA in his last 3 starts. Padre road games have averaged just 7.29 rpg, including an average of 4.75 rpg when Cashner starts on the road and their games have averaged just 5.14 rpg when he starts at night. Colons home starts have averaged 7 rpg, while Met home games overall have put up just 6.73 rpg. This one has pitcher's duel written all over it.
Cincinnati +103 over MILWAUKEE
I can see the Brwers starting a bit of a downward turn, while the Reds are getting healthier and looking to make a run at the NL Central title. The Reds have both Votto and Bruce back in the lineup now and this offense is the healthiest it has been all year and it showed in their last 2 games as they put up 9 runs vs two very good starters for the Dodgers. Matt Garza has pitched well for the Brewers this year, but last year he faced the Reds twice and allowed 13 ERs in just 9 innings of work in the two games. Homer Bailey has pitched well of late, with a 2.57 ERA in his last 3 starts and he has allowed 3 ER's or less in his last 4 starts vs the Brewers. Homer is 3-0 in those 4 starts. The Brewers has been solid, but this team may also be a bit tired after the late extra inning game vs the Mets last night and I feel that could be the difference here as the Reds show them gthat they are ready to make a run at the NL Central title.
2 UNIT PLAY
LA Angels -113 over ATLANTA
Atlanta is fading, while the Angels have been playing much better of late. The Braves have no offense right now and I don't see it getting going vs CJ Wilson tonight, who many of these players have never seen before. in fact, just 6 braves players have seen him before and have combined for just 50 AB's while hitting just .140 off of him. On the other side we have an Angels offense that has been solid all year and one that has crushed Aaron Harang in their careers. Current Angel players have combined to hit .354, with 12 HRs in 175 ABs off of him. Pujols has faced him the most and has a .342 average, with 5 HRs in 79 ABs. Aaron is 0-5 with a 7.79 ERA in his career vs the Halos. The Angels clearly have the advantage at the plate, plus they have the better starter on the mound and they are playing better ball than the Braves right now. It should all add up to the Angels taking game 1 of this series.
