Yonkers: Friday 12/2 Analysis
By Brewster Smith

DRF

MEET STATS: 290 - 1221 / $1,869.60

BEST BETS: 32 - 114 / $151.10

Best Bet: SOUTHWIND ROULETTE (11th)

Spot Play: AMERICAN IMAGE (5th)

Race 1

(2) COPPER COAST A was sharp in victory at big odds last time out. Gelding stays in same company, so two straight is not out of the question. (7) IT'S A GOOD THING showed good speed and was second best in his latest. (3) THISGUYSAROCKSTAR gets post relief and that might help his cause.

Race 2

(8) GINGER TREE ALEXIS Pacing mare put in a nice run last out and now she will have to greet the cameraman for pictures from the far outside slot; possible. (5) WRAPPED TO GO gets out of door number seven for a cozy post. (3) ROLL WITH JOSIE raced evenly for fourth money last time around.

Race 3

(1) HARMONY OAKS QUIKE makes her return to Yonkers and did not race badly at the Meadowlands in her last two trips to the post; threat at her best. (5) SUMMER SNOW could not catch the winner at odds on recently but figures in here. (8) NORTHERN DALI was late on the scene to nail down the victory last time out.

Race 4

(2) ADDWATER rallied strongly to grab the show spot last time out and now this gelding gets the 2-hole and has every right to boss these. (3) JC KINGDOM came very wide at the 3/4 pole and was full of run; main danger. (5) LISCLOON could grab a share of the purse.

Race 5

(3) AMERICAN IMAGE showed signs of life in her last trip to the post so this might be the perfect spot for this sophomore filly to get the job done. (7) UPFRONTWHOSURLADY has wheeled off three straight victories and now she moves up the ladder.

Race 6

(4) FANTICIPATION was a very game third at the Big M in her most recent outing. Mare seems to be heading in the right direction and a score is well within the realm. (2) GADSDEN HANOVER was sent down the road last out for her second straight victory; threat again. (5) SENSATIONALGABBY A blew the doors off lesser company last time out; don't overlook.

Race 7

(2) DATELINE HANOVER was wide at the 3/4 pole to run them down for glory last out upstate. Pacing gelding is in winning form so if he returns to that effort, the rest will have to settle for minor awards. (1) AMERICAN ROCK got the job done wire to window last out at Philly; player. (6) JK HEAVEN SENT took charge at the 1/2 mile marker and opened up to an easy score recently.

Race 8

(5) BEDROOMCONFESSIONS comes off an sharp second against better company last time out so this might be a perfect spot for this pacing mare to get the job done. (8) KRISPY APPLE is on a roll scoring her fourth straight victory. (7) MACH IT A PAR was sitting in the pocket most of the way, but could not get by Krispy Apple recently; not out of this.

Race 9

(6) NERIDA FRANCO N was sharp from the 8-hole to grab the placing at the Meadowlands last time around so this mare has every right to put her best foot forward. (5) HER OWN LAND put in a mild bid for fourth money last time out. (3) CAVIART CARI ANN has fine speed and has been in the exacta picture in her last four tries; beware.

Race 10

(7) MILKY WAY RAE has been very sharp at Saratoga and now this filly moves her trade to Yonkers and she can top these at her best. (5) AL RAZA N is knocking at the door based on her last two tries. (2) CRACKER COFFEE closed well to nail down the score in her last trip.

Race 11

(2) SOUTHWIND ROULETTE gets serious post relief and this mare can show speed against these; the pick. (7) CHEYENNE ROBIN was flying up the cones to nail down the victory last time around. (1) GLENFERRIE BRONTE N moves back to the fence where this mare got the job done four tries ago; don't overlook.

Bonus Play Friday

The Thursday Bonus Play was on an upcoming college football game, so no result on that one till tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’ll try one in the NHL for the Friday comp.

1 WILD at 2 FLAMES 9:05 PM

Take: WILD -125

The Minnesota Wild head into Calgary to face the Flames having dropped two in a row. Minnesota managed one regulation point at St. Louis on Saturday but eventually lost that game in a shootout. But the Wild got no points on Wednesday as they dropped a 5-4 decision at Vancouver.

The Wild are a perfect 3-0 this season playing off back to back losses, and won those games by a combined 12-3 margin. So this is a team that has responded well when trying to avoid hitting a skid, and I’m expecting that trend to be maintained tonight.

Moreover, there’s a little revenge involved tonight. These teams met once previously this season and Calgary scored the upset with the 1-0 stunner in a game in which the Wild were heavily favored on the money line.

It’s also worth noting that the Flames, while fairly respectable on the road, have been just plain lousy at home. Fact is, they’ve been the most hospitable hosts in the league, netting only four wins whole absorbing seven losses to visiting entries.

There’s not much question as to which team is superior here and given the conditions, I have no problem siding with the favored Wild to come away with the win tonight.

Jim Feist's Comp Pick, Friday, December 2, 2016

Your free pick for Friday, December 2, 2016 comes in the NBA as the Cavaliers head to Chicago to face the Bulls. A rivalry game in the Eastern conference between a pair of strong defensive teams. Chicago is seventh in the NBA in points allowed and eighth in field goal shooting allowed. Cleveland had to play last night against the Clippers and the Under is 7-2-1 in the Cavaliers last 10 road games. Chicago is 14-6 under against the Eastern Conference and the Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Play Cleveland/Chicago Under the total.
