-------------------------------------------------------------------

FYI, let's limit the comps to the first 2 pages, I need this thread to be used for chatter and what games members would like to pick up or split. Service thread getting way to much chatter. Ty.

Game: St Louis Cardinals at San Diego Padres Aug 21 2009 10:05PM

Prediction: under

Reason: St. Louis is 11-5 UNDER vs. NL West teams and they are 5-1-2 UNDER vs. a starter with a WHIP of over 1.30. The Cardinals are 15-6-3 UNDER their last 24 games as favorites and they are 11-4 UNDER in the last 15 starts made by Kyle Lohse after allowing 2 or less runs in their last game. San Diego starter Clayton Richard has allowed just 8 runs total in his 3 starts with the Padres. San Diego is 4-1 UNDER when the Total is 7.0 to 8.5. The Padres are 6-2-1 UNDER at home vs. the Cardinals. PLAY ON 'UNDER' (Richard vs. Lohse)

Free MLB Play - August 21st

#925 MINNESOTA with Blackburn (-117) over Kansas City at 8:10 PM EST

Back in the middle of August, Kansas City took two-out-of-three from the Twins at Minnesota. Rest assured, the Twinkies will be out for a little revenge on Friday night.

On the bump for Minny will be right hander Nick Blackburn. Since the All-Star break, Blackburn has been serving up meatballs allowing 29 earned runs and 50 hits in 25.2 innings of work. That's bad enough for a ridiculous 10.17 ERA. The Twins are 0-6 in Nick's last six starts. All of that is noted. Still, Blackburn's overall numbers are good. With 149.0 frames in the bank, No. 53 has been tapped for 72 earned runs and 179 hits in 149.0 frames. After the math, that translates into an 8-8 record and a decent 4.35 ERA.

It isn't like Minnesota will be facing a juggernaut on the mound. Kansas City will start right hander Luke Hochevar. In his last four starts against Detroit, Oakland, Seattle and Baltimore, No. 44 was blasted for 21 earned runs and 37 hits in 22.0 innings. That adds up to a miserable 0-4 record and an elevated 8.59 ERA! At night, Hochevar's numbers are lacking too. With the moon out, the former Tennessee Volunteer has been tagged for 34 earned runs and 57 hits in 51.0 innings. That adds up to a lofty 6.00 ERA!

On a technical note, the Royals have dropped 39 of their last 57 overall and 35 of their last 51 priced as a home underdog. The Twins are the better teams and they'll find a way to win this game. Take Minnesota with listed pitcher Blackburn. Thank you and best of luck, Tom Stryker.

Now on a 43-33 roll with the plays I'm giving away, including the Astros over the Marlins 4-1 last night! For today's complimentary play, we're looking at the Milwaukee/Washington match up...

With both teams struggling, this one comes down to the pitching match up, and the edge here lies with the rookie J.D. Martin. Martin has improved from start to start, culminating in allowing just one unearned run at the Reds in his last one. He was also solid in the start prior, allowing 1 run over 5 innings to Arizona in front of the home fans August 9th. True, he got touched up for 5 runs against the Brewers back on July 30th, but that came on the road, and I expect the rook to get it right this time around at home.

Speaking of Milwaukee's offense, the best news for Martin is the suddenly sputtering Brewers attack, averaging just 3.2 runs per game in losing their L4 contests! Granted, the Nationals have never been an offensive juggernaut, but the way Braden Looper has pitched lately, things are looking good for Nats offense in this one.

Herein lies the problem for the visitor, as Braden Looper is 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA over his L2 starts. His inconsistent road play is no secret, getting crushed by the Padres for 6 runs, only to allow just 1 run at the Dodgers in the next road start. Needless to say, his 5.13 ERA on the highway is ugly, and although he's matched up against a rookie, I've seen more consistency from JD Martin than Looper at this point, plain and simple. Washington circles the wagons at home Friday night!

Take Washington behind J.D. Martin over Milwaukee and Looper in this MLB match up.

This baseball game will be a slugfest. Both the Yankees and Red Sox will bring the bats out today. The Over is today's pick.

What's Up!

I am the NEW guy . I keep getting personal emails about Randy. What's up with that?

Last year he posted picks for free, but then went belly up at the end.

Now he is selling picks for $899.00 for the season. You have to be kidding!

Does anyone know why?

Texas Rangers (68-52) at Tampa Bay Rays (65-55)
(R) Dustin Nippert (4-1) vs. (L) Scott Kazmir (7-7)

Texas' Dustin Nippert (4-1, 3.52) is 4-1 with a 2.61 ERA in his last eight outings, including four starts. The right-hander allowed seven runs over four innings in a 7-4 loss in his only career appearance against Tampa Bay in 2008.
Tampa Bay's Scott Kazmir (7-7, 6.36 ERA) has won three of his last four starts and is 3-0 with a 3.26 ERA in his last three home outings. The lefthander is 4-1 with a 2.06 ERA in eight starts against the Rangers.

Go with the Rays to grab their fifth straight win tonight at home with lefty Scott Kazmir on the hill. Kazmir has been successful against Rangers, going 7-1 in his last 8 starts versus Texas, 4-0 in his last 4 at home. In addition, The Rangers have had difficulties against the Rays in the Sunshine State. Texas has dropped eight of their last ten games against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Who the hell is Randy? Yet another "new" service that shows up at the end of the season with a 70% inning percentage?! Right!

Just a poster that was hot and fell flat by the end of the season. Gave his picks free except for anyone that contributed to buying him a computer
