Mark Sanchez and Kellen Clemens are battling it out in NY for the starting job. And they have a new coach who wants to establish a winning trend in front of the hometown crowd. St. Louis is also breaking in a new coach but we'll back the hometown squad with two QBs and a coach who have something to prove. A small 1* play on the J-E-T-S.

1) Colorado Rockies vs Florida Marlins

Pick: Over 8 (5 units)

There is a substantial amount of value of playing the OVER in this one for several reasons. The Rockies and the Marlins have been rolling offensively as of late. Colorado is averaging 7.7 runs per game in its last 6 and Florida is averaging 8.8 in its last 5. This matchup features two right handed pitchers, Jason Hammel (7-6, 4.66) and Josh Johnson (11-2, 2.92). Both teams have had a lot of success versus righties as of late averaging 0.323 and 0.328 in their past 10 contests.

2) New York Yankees vs Seattle Mariners

Pick: NYY -1.5 (4 units)

Yankees will win this one in dominant fashion. This is a matchup featuring two lefties, Andy Pettitte (9-6, 4.14) and Ryan Rowland Smith (2-1, 3.86). The Yanks clearly have the advantage at bat as they are averaging 0.317 versus lefties in their last 10 contests. Yankees have now won 10 of their last 11 and only one of those wins was by one run. They are 12-3 in their last 15 versus Seattle.

The Angels send Jered Weaver (12-3, 3.67) to the mound. He will square off against rookie Chris Tillman (0-0, 5.19). L.A. will easily dominate because they have a solid pitching and batting advantage. They are averaging 0.316 in their last 10 versus righties, meanwhile Baltimore is averaging 0.255. Additionally the Angels are 7-1 in their last 8 following a day off, 10-2 in their last 12 as a road favourite, 7-0 in Weaver’s last 7 versus a team with a losing record and 4-1 in their last 5 meetings in Baltimore.
