Just read this in the Daily Mail comments:

"I have never been prouder to be Canadian. Those who oppose the protest are consumers of toxic MSM. The streets are spotless, crime has dropped by 90% in downtown Ottawa, homeless are clothed and fed, hockey games for locals, flowers laid daily at memorials and statues, free food on every corner and even a mini food bank for residents, no honking now, saunas and hot tubs, bouncy castles and kid's play areas, over 110 signed affidavits from residents applauding the convoy. This weekend: free 'flatten the fear' pancake breakfast for the whole city and memorial service for lives lost during pandemic and a medical debate with all levels of government invited to talk to doctors who say science supports the truckers. THIS is my Canada."

(the dark pool activity is information i was sharing as a side ...., nothing to do with CPI/blockades etc . Sorry for any confusion. To repeat over the last week and a half-an unusual # of large block trades have been buys on the SPY ,Im sure there horizon isnt 1-3 mths , likely dipping their feet here? )

thesis- if blockades continue deep into Feb they likely impact the Feb CPI adversely (released Mar 10th 8;30 am) The entire market is very sensitive to CPI data hence an opportunity to profit presents

if the CPI number prints hotter Mar 10th 8;30 am? VIX spikes , qqq drops (we saw that today). Therefore people who were long the VIX and those that went short the qqq at yesterday close? make a sweet quick buck this morning

what vehicles to buy Mar 9th before the close if the blockades do continue deep into Feb and one likes the thesis?

short the qqq -- PSQ or QID (a double inverse, more risky)

the greatest reward comes from UVXY with QID next. To put a real-life number here as an example--- yesterday one could have bought UVXY @ $12.34 just before the close (in anticipation of today's CPI hot print, rolling the dice lol)--- it opened aprrox 7% higher . 7% profit in less than 24 hours lol. For the day it ended up approx., 14% thanks to Bullard

this is a plan to make a quick buck-- literally selling shortly after the market opens. This is NOT to hold for a day or so . It is risky, speculation-- its a bet

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said the protest is hurting “Michigan’s working families who are just trying to do their jobs,” noting the Ambassador Bridge is the busiest land border crossing in North America.

“It is imperative that Canadian local, provincial and national governments de-escalate this economic blockade,” she said in a written statement. “They must take all necessary and appropriate steps to immediately and safely reopen traffic so we can continue growing our economy, supporting good-paying jobs and lowering costs for families.”

actually, here's Whitmer's full statement;

“My message is simple: Reopen traffic on the bridge.

“In Michigan, our economy continues to grow because of our hardworking people and innovative small businesses. Now, that momentum is at risk. Commercial traffic is at a standstill at the Ambassador Bridge and heavily backed up at the Blue Water Bridge.

“The blockade is having a significant impact on Michigan’s working families who are just trying to do their jobs. Our communities and automotive, manufacturing and agriculture businesses are feeling the effects. It’s hitting paychecks and production lines. That is unacceptable.

“The Ambassador Bridge is the busiest land border crossing in North America, used by tens of thousands of commuters and truck drivers carrying hundreds of millions of dollars of goods every day. Countless Michiganders rely on this daily flow of goods and people to get things done.

“It is imperative that Canadian local, provincial, and national governments de-escalate this economic blockade. They must take all necessary and appropriate steps to immediately and safely reopen traffic so we can continue growing our economy, supporting good-paying jobs and lowering costs for families.”

providing information that this blockade is indeed affecting USA (from a reliable source-a governor ) hence the thesis for the Feb CPI being hotter may have merit. other factors make up the CPI of course that may negate, and its only a region
