This sillyness deserves an entry on Snopes as well.

True that more than a few folks tried to rally support for such an absurd addition to the great Mt Rushmore back in 1999, but after starting out slow, it pretty much then fizzled out entirely.

Sarcasm Barman...Right wing sarcasm.

I come in peace. I'm still a winger...but I'm going to tone it down now.

Obama gets his chance...I'll take a few shots here and there... but I hope we can all tone it down a notch...or at least I will.

Come on...anybody that believes this stuff word for word is a moron.

The knives are out on the losing side...somebody has to be the fall guy.

There is no evidence it cost McCain the election.

VP's just aren't that important. They just aren't.

you my friend need some serious help defending this bimbo. She might not have cost McCain the election but she sure as hell destroyed any chance he might have had at winning when he picked her. If McCain would have had just a half of brain and he wanted a woman so bad for vp{to get the hillary vote} he should have actually picked a well qualified one, which there was a bunch he could have chosen from, nope instead he picks the airhead beauty queen who is as dumb as a box of rocks. After that couric inyerview they should have found a way to replace her. Couric didnt give her any hard questions and she still looked like an idiot.
There is talk of Plain 2012, lmfaooooooooooooo i hope so because that means the democrats will win again for sure.

Who i feel real bad for are the wolves up their in Alaska, because am sure this backwoods hillbilly is going to go shoot a bunch of them to take out her anger.

Unless of course...its not true.
Is it really that farfetched? When she couldn't name a newspaper that she reads, or a supreme court decision she disagreed with, or what the Bush doctrine was, this doesn't seem implausible to me at all.

The fact that it's coming from Fox News has to trouble you, given their right-wing bias.

As soon as McCain said "Sarah Palin" I looked at my wife and said "It's over". She was a disaster for the campaign.

She may be an idiot but everything being leaked out is clearly McCain aides/team members just tossing her under the bus in hopes of spreading/placing the blame.

Seriously if he picks Carly Fiorina he would have taken a huge chunk of that 18 million voter chunk for Clinton.

VP's aren't important? :ohno: That's an absurd statement considering Dick Cheney just ran the country for 8 years. Also, the VP runs the senate (according to Palin).

Nonsourced stories don't trouble me at all...people that think nonsourced stories have real value trouble me.

Not only is it without a source...which allows it to be completely made up...but it doesn't even give Sarah's version.

Well...the exit polls clearly showed Palin wasn't to blame here.

Believe what you want to...

She got run out after investors panicked! kinda like the dumb gamblers on this forum that panick and scream "buy back" at the half when their team is struggling to cover the spread in the first half. She had a huge merger that made HP into the largest pc company in the whole world and the success it is could be attributed to her. Many people credit her for this sucess, others argue otherwise.

(NOte. In fairness, i would be arguing that she fumbled the whole merger if Mccain had indeed chosen her. I would be siding with her detractors.)

But say what you may about the whole merger, she had way more lee way than Palin ever had with her bridge to no where (we even had photos of her wearing the t-shirt) or bankrupting a town of 9000 and leaving them with a 20 million dollar tab!

The upside to her was so much more than Palin. If the worst people (including me) could come up with was the wishy washy argument that she "almost" killed HP trust me, Mccain would have had an easy time fudging that nonsense. (NOt to mention all her buddies on CNBC, FBN, Bloomberg TV and women that would have come to her defense)

She sure as hell would have out debated that blow hard Biden (yes now we can admit that Biden is a mandible disaster waiting to happen) on the economy with no freakin debate prep like Palin needed.

And she sure as hell wouldnt look stupid answering Couric on what newspapers she has read.

i went and borrowed her impressive resume that is worth gold compared to Palin's hilly billy crap!

Early career
Fiorina worked various secretarial positions, including at HP as a temporary worker working for Kelly Services (then Kelly Girls).
Fiorina worked as a receptionist at Marcus & Millichap and was a broker briefly. During her speech at the 2006 ICSC convention in Las Vegas, Fiorina noted that her time at Marcus & Millichap helped her learn how to navigate the business world.
Fiorina taught English in Italy; her first husband's career had taken them to that country.

[edit] AT&T (1980-1995)

Fiorina joined AT&T in 1980 as a management trainee and rose to become a Senior Vice President.

[edit] Lucent Technologies (1995-1999)

  • On November 20, 1995, promoted by AT&T to Executive Vice President for corporate operations for the future Lucent spinoff, reporting to Henry B. Schacht.[6]
  • On February 5, 1996, Lucent Technologies was spun off from AT&T. Fiorina played a key role in planning and implementing the initial public offering of stock and launch activities.[7][8]
  • On October 15, 1996, appointed President of Lucent consumer products business, reporting to Rich McGinn, President and COO of Lucent.[9]
  • On October 1, 1997, appointed Chairman of Philips Consumer Communications, a US$2.5 billion joint venture in corded/cordless phones and answering machines.[10] Philips Consumer Communications was dissolved in 1998.[11]
  • On October 23, 1997, appointed Group President of Lucent global service provider business, with global marketing responsibility for Lucent's largest customer segment.[12]
  • In October 1998, Fiorina was ranked #1 in Fortune magazine's first listing of the most powerful women in business.[13][14] She remained at the top until 2004 and was listed near the top in the following years. On first being listed, she remarked that the idea of this list is inappropriate.
  • On July 19, 1999, Fiorina joined Hewlett-Packard.

The woman started out as a secretary and rose so high to be named one of the most powerful people in business in 2005!

Mccain could have campaigned on her humble beginnings alone to skate by the economic crisis and win milions of hilary voters.

Incase some of you forgot. I hate mcccain and the republican party! If even i "and extreme left wing asshole" can see the no brainer in picking fiorina it should clue you in on why Mccain got the whole campaign wrong and why the country flatly rejected the moronic bible thumping, war mongering, fear mongering, race baiting politics of old.

Its a new day. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.

But please you dont have to oblige me. Keep sleeping and rest your hopes in guns and religion! Promote Sarah Palin and demagogues like her to bigger positions in your party. Lets see how that crap works out for you in the next eight years.:103631605

VP's just aren't that important. They just aren't.

There was some guy on I believe the NBC morning show that will have an 8 series article about behind the scenes information on the election. He said they have done it for 7 or 8 elections. The agreement is nothing is written about the access they have to the canidates and what happens behind the scenes until after the election.

He said this morning the Hillary and McCain's campaigns both seemed very hectic and almost disorganized ( soemthing to that effect). He said the Obama campaign seemed calm and well organized. He said this morning that McCain wanted Lieberman as his first choice to be VP but the republicans wouldn't allow him to do it. He also made mention to some othe issues with Palin. Might be worth your time to check it out.

NBC now has a terrible and earned reputation for being in the tank for Obama.

They better name sources and make it real...or I could care less. They don't have the rep anymore to just believe at face value...in my opinion.

But you did see that she couldn't name a Supreme Court case besides Roe v. Wade, and she couldn't name a newspaper she reads. Surely you can admit that this lends some credibility to the *UNNAMED* source stories.

Assuming these stories are true, how does this effect your perception of her?

Oh come on...do you want to go into wacko land?
