There is little to no pride in boxing anymore, its all about the money. Similar problems with NBA and NFL, which is one reason many hardcore fans of those sports prefer college ball. Its all about branding yourself and no one has done a better job of that than Floyd.

totally agree

right but you think it would that the past legends numbers would be would exceed or even be comparable to today's greats?

You are really underrating how much boxing has fallen in popularity over the past 15-20 years. Incentives aren't there for top American athletes to go into the sport like they were for previous generations.

the guys who could've surpassed Ali and Foreman are NFL LBs now.

I watched some mini segments on him and steven smiff interview. I had no idea what the hell he was talking about. And Rocky Balboa is the greatest of all time.

Then why didn't fight Pacman 5 years ago ??

Back in the day, you fought the #1 contenders ... or lose your Belt...
sure you can bypass a little, but then you had to fight.

and you did say Majority ... so you know he ducked a few

you cant blame floyd solely for the fight not being made 5 or 6 yrs ago. all he did was ask for a drug test, which pac denied. also, if you notice, since then pac hasnt ko'd anyone. coincidence? prob not imo.

next i said majority bc his early fights were against top notch contenders. i dont buy the whole floyd ducking opponent thing. if thats the case, every fighter ducks someone at some point in their career.

Not a fan of Ali at all, Cassius Clay was cooler. That said, Cassius would tear Floyd a new asshole.

Then his next fight should be Khan :)

Ali and all of those guys from the 70s ducked Holmes for years. Unfortunately for Ali he did eventually fight him.

When you've got guys like King and Arum running boxing for multiple decades, a lot of good fights aren't going to be made.

It's like who's better Ruth, Williams or some even say Bonds. The best fighters I ever saw in their prime were
1) Roberto Duran as a lightweight
2) Salvatore Sanchez before he crashed his sportscar

The best fighter of all time was Ray Robinson but I never saw him in his prime. Dad took me to yankee Stadium
to see him fight Basilio at Yankee Stadium when I was in grade school, great fight but he past his prime.
On TV I saw Robinson KO Fullmer with one punch to regain the championship & his KO of Bobo Olson again
to regain the title but as good as he was he was still past his prime.

Amir Khan is marginal. He has some hand speed but no jaw. Maybe if Floyd declined greatly he could beat him.

The reason Floyd didn't fight him a few years ago was because it would've looked awful to pick him based on recent resume. Then Maidana tied him up for a year and now we're here.

disagree .. khan has become a more discipline fighter. This is something Floyd would shy away from.

and who has Floyd knocked out lately ??

If this fight went this year, I would be betting on Khan HUGE

Maybe if he catches him in 12-18 months it works out but he isn't an A-list fighter. He has no resume to back that up whatsoever. People said the samething about Judah, that he had the handspeed to neutralize Floyd.

Easy to say he has been more discipline since the Garcia fight because he hasn't fought anyone.

I don't think Ali was the best fighter of all time. matter of fact, I was not a fan.

if I said who I thought was, I would show my age. lol

Take away Ali's mouth, he would hardly ever be talked about. His mouth was the champ, not his boxing skills.
