I would LOVE too see advanced analytics on this. You know some boxing broadcast will says the force of pounds behind punches and the speed at which they were thrown... if there was a way to calculate these older fighters...

I would guess they would be a little slower and with a little less power because of the advances in training

if you did this, you would need to take everyone at their Prime..

disagree, obviously you dont follow the sport. is it as big as it used to be, no. but boxing does not suck. its just not as mainstream.

I don't think Ali was the best fighter of all time. matter of fact, I was not a fan.

if I said who I thought was, I would show my age. lol

who do you think is the best ever? obv there is no way to prove right or wrong. and im somewhat old as well!

exactly, the problem with boxing isn't the quality of the athletes...
It's the branding of the athletes. it's the politics of boxing.

then you havent watched boxing in those 20 yrs. there have been several great fights on the old tuesday night fights, friday night fights and undercards of ppv events. go watch the matt/prov fight from this past saturday for example. great fight its just that casual followers of the sport dont follow anymore. thats a whole different discussion as to why.

and i disagree. you are making me sound like a floyd fanboy! he did the right thing with the majority of his fights.

Then why didn't fight Pacman 5 years ago ??

Back in the day, you fought the #1 contenders ... or lose your Belt...
sure you can bypass a little, but then you had to fight.

and you did say Majority ... so you know he ducked a few

There is little to no pride in boxing anymore, its all about the money. Similar problems with NBA and NFL, which is one reason many hardcore fans of those sports prefer college ball. Its all about branding yourself and no one has done a better job of that than Floyd.
