THC, you are certainly tight about the offensive line. If you go back to the last 6 games it is 3-3 and that includes the Swindle in the Swamp game. Now I want to go back 5 games and it is 3 for Florida and 2 for FSU with one of the 2 being the SITSwamp game. It should have been 4-1 UF! The last 5 years has CLEARLY favored Florida and coinsides with FSUs slide. The ABSOLUTE best game I have ever been to, I did not go to the National Championship game of 52-20,was the 97 FSU@ UF game when FSU was undefeated. Florida spoiled FSUs chance at a NC game by winning 34-29. I still get goosebumps thinking about what a magical night that was! LT:103631605

Mr Smith,

Can you say, "Bandwagon"? You've been a FSU "fan" for the last 15 UF/FSU matchups? I guess you're a Braves fan (but not this year), a Yankees fan, a New England Patriots fan, you were real big on the Bulls during Jordan's years, you probably clung to Duke basketball in the 90's too!

Saying that UF has no running back is ridiculous. Two years ago we had Fason who went for about 1200 yards. Last year, under a new coach, we didn't have one back step up and be "the man" all year....so that means we will never find a RB???? What did FSU's backs do last year? RB by committee. Did any of the go for over 700 yards? In fact didn't Washington have a worse year than the previous? UF will find a RB, don't worry about that. Same story with the O-line. Unlike FSU's O-line, UF has recruited the position well (even through the Zook years).

MedGator makes a good point Pete about the recruiting. Your arguement doesn't hold water about Meyer calling players out. In fact, most of the players who have committed to him over the last 2 classes and the 11 who have committed so far say they appreciate his honesty. Recruiting isn't a problem....his system? That remains to be seen....especially while we have a pure drop back passer playing QB.

FSU hasnt been very good since 2000, so Florida has been winning more than losing last 5 years.

FSU is going to be good this year. Weatherford is going to surprise everyone who hasnt yet figured out he isnt the guy the nation wrote off after seeing him look horrid vs Miami.

His last 3 games stats all vs tough defenses Florida, VA Tech, Penn St ( And he had no offensive line)

24-42 285 yds 1 td 2 int
21-35 225 yds 1 td 0 int
24-44 258 yds 1 td 1 int

1 of the int's vs florida hit a receiver perfectly in the hands, bounced straight up into a florida defenders hands, not the QB's fault.

the int in the orange bowl was on a route mistake by a receiver, he went left, ball went right.

offensive line will be improved this year and a better running game. Plus a lot of easy home games. Weatherford is going to put up huge numbers this year and the INTs will go down a lot from 18 last year. He has 3 very good receivers to throw to ( Carr, Fagg, Davis) and 2 very fast running backs to catch balls out of the backfield and then try and shake loose ( Booker, Smith). To put it simply, there aint NO excuses for Weatherford this year.

If FSU beats Miami, lookout they may be 12-0 and have the momentum of a runaway freight train when Florida comes to town ( which will be a revenge game too). Even if Miami beats them, they may be 11-1 when Florida comes to town. Sorry Gators, this isnt your year to beat FSU.

I think Florida is a very good team, not great and I would put FSU in the same category. I cant wait for the pre-season "games of the year" lines to come out. I am going to POUND FSU vs Florida. I think the line will be a lot worse for FSU bettors gameday. ( Mainly due to schedules)

You can spin it anyway to make it favor FSU or UF. You can say, if it wasnt for that 4th down conversion prior to the Rix to PK play in 02, FSU woulda lost. Should be an interesting year with your offensive line and Urban second year with the spread offense & Chris Leak.

As for FSU, the offensive line just needs to stay healthy and Jeff Bowden cant abandon the run if we fall behind. Antone Smith & Lorenzo Booker were SOLID in the spring and the offensive line really played well together. Now all we have to do is hope this same success translates over to the regular season.

Im not overly confident, but i, as well as a lot of others, feel more confident about this year than last year.

Man i cant wait for football to get here!!

Mr Smith

Fact is... You made some very ignorant statements and many people, me to start, jumped all over you for them. Do some research man, you sound like a complete moron.

Here is a fact for you though... FSCC used to be an all girls school, and according to some, it still is.

Here's another... The all-time UF/FSCC series is 29-20-2 in favor of the Gators.

MORAL OF THE STORY: brush up before you post misleading facts. Nobody is going to let you get away with it!

Mr Smith, it is scary but I LOVE the one on the far right also. They are ALL keepers. How about swinging by Tally and offer them ALL a weekend scholarship and bring them to the Bash. I will spring for the airfair! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh would that be a HOOT! LT:103631605 :toast: :lolBIG:

I wonder if our tailbacks can match the production of the great Seminole Lorenzo Booker, who talked big smack about UF last year kinda like you are. Lo Lo's smack resulted in him getting smashed in his mouth in an impressive 3, or was it 4, yd effort, as his has been football team got their asses handed to em 34 to 7!!!

I will concede that UF does have some question marks on the offensive front, and the schedule is a minefield. I'd much rather go into a season in that situation though than having a no discipline underachieving clueless as hell coaching staff, led by a has been senile HBC like you guys have up in Tallahassee.

Well said Boxslayer. Scheduling and conference strength is 90% of the road to the title game. Your both lucky and good if you can overcome both.

you guys are nuts if you think Florida St scheduled there way to national championships! By the ACC not being a great conference, FSU was able to schedule strong ( and interesting) non con games in the 1990s and we still are. OK not this year, but it picks up again next year.

1993 non-con schedule

at florida
miami
at notre dame

1999

at florida
miami
louisiana tech

other teams of note FSU scheduled in the 90's in addition to non-com Miami and Florida every year. ( Unlike a certain SEC team which quit playing Miami because Miami was beating them every time)

Auburn
LSU
USC
BYU

Compared to SEC schools who bitch about how hard the conference is and play 3 patsies every year in non-con, it works out about the same. FSU's conference was easier but the non-con evened the playing field

PS- I take back my "black hole" comment. they have several decent backs, maybe one will step forward and be good maybe not. but its not a black hole there

Mr. Smith gets whored yet again

I whore you yet again and all you come up with is me working at a gas station? HAHAHAHAHA! I think you have UF and FSCC grads completely mixed up man. Fact is, you lost an argument. Deal with it! Do we need to revisit how much of a paper mill school FSCC is? Maybe you should be the little pu$$Y you were earlier and cry to the mods the last time I whored you.... Have fun never having real job graduating from a 5th tier university, oops i mean community college.

One more thing

Mr. Smith,

I understand that not making it into UF has turned you into a sour, bitter, piss ant. The whole board can see this. But hey man, don't take it out on the people who simply worked harder than you. I hope you can make the best of the upward mobility within the fastfood industry, I hear there are lots of opportunities. Plus, you'll have all your friends working with you, not a bad gig at all!
