has a black hole at tailback. they will not be able to run the ball

had a bad, bad offensive line last year that lost 4 starters. I doubt the back-ups last year were backups because they were good. Leak isnt mobile, good luck protecting him. good luck running the ball with poor tailbacks and a bad line.

schedule:

at tennessee early
at florida state late

and a 4 game stretch with no byes in between of

Alabama
LSU
at Auburn
Georgia

can be please get a lot more realistic about this teams chances to be a top 10 team? people calling them a national title threat make me grin. Add in a must win SEC title game into the mix for them to win too just to get into a title game. so thats 7 tough games. they need to win at least 6 of them to get into a NT game. probably all 7.

but you can get tham at 10-1 to win the title :nohead:

no one will believe me, but watch out for the creminoles this year. :103631605

Florida St schedule... if, if they beat Miami, lookout. 8 home games after that. only 2 tough games after Miami are Florida and Clemson. Both are home and important and revenge games. And this will easily be FSU's best team since the golden days. Not as good, no, but a reasonable facsimile. Considering the easy schedule, lookout.

NC St is garbage by the way. complete rebuilding now. at maryland more of a threat for an upset, but that is remote.

I agree our schedule is easy...1 of the away games is against Duke :puppy:

Im optimistic, but not that confident. Like you said, we still have to play Miami & UF, both are always tough games. PLUS, we still have to get passed the ACC tile game. Alot will depend on how well our offensive line can hold up and how well we run the ball.

I don't remember Florida's RB's being spectacular, but I don't remember them being terrible either...in Meyer's system, you don't need a superstar back, just a workhorse or two...

In meyer's system you just need better athletes at every position.....because his offense will never work in the SEC.

UFs thin offensive line will be their downfall. We had similar problems last year. Once you lose one guy on the line, its pretty much downhill from there.

It has been said that Florida football has the arrogance of Harvard and the achievments of Wake Forest.

despite 58 years played to floridas 98 years, FSU football completely dominates Florida in national championships, conference championships and BCS bowl bids and BCS bowl wins.

Since I became an FSU fan, FSU has posted a 9-6 record vs Florida. Sorry if I dont feel any great sense of urgency to win another but this fall will be here soon enough anyway.

Have fun in your annual trip to the outback bowl :howdy:

As far as academics, if I wrote as poorly as you I would be ashamed to let anyone know what school I attended.

PS- You may want to lower your opinion of Leak considering your opinion of Weatherford. As a freshman, Weatherford threw for 3200 yards last year. As a an experienced junior, Leak threw for 2600.

are you really going to boast about conference championships when you play in the ACC? :)

Two reasons.....

1. I've seen it in person and I felt sorry for the Florida players.

2. Meyer is critical of his players and names them during press conferences.....and NO recruit likes knowing THAT might happen.

...And that fact is clearly evident with UF's horrendous recruiting class last year and their pathetic start to this year's class. :103631605

Mr Smith, I agree with you on Florida being so highly ranked due to a BRUTAL schedule, not unlike the FSU schedule. I will take issue on a couple of points such as the Black Hole at RB. Between the 3 RBs their composite average was around 4.5 ypc. If I am not mistaken, the FSU RBs were comparable.

I think you might be a little optimistic about the UF running game and Leak getting killed.

I think you might be a LITTLE off on your info on the 4 game stretch that UF has with Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia NOT having an open date. I rechecked the said 4 game stretch and lo and behold there is an open date between Auburn and Georgia. I do think Florida loses the Auburn game due to the 2 teams that they play before going to Auburn.

If FSU loses more than 2 games with their schedule of Rice, Troy, Duke, and W Michigan, ALL @ home, their should be a couple of FIRINGS:lolBIG: There are ONLY 3 teams that have any kind of chance to beat FSU and 2 of them come to Tally. With your schedule, you cannot afford to lose even ONE game to get into the National game. FSU needs to make hay this year because the schedule is a lot yougher next year.

Mr Smith, you guys are NOT the "creminoles" You are The CRIMINOLES!

I would take a 6-1 record right now and let the chips fall where they may. Look forward to seeing you at the Bash. LT:103631605 :toast:

LSUpete, my SEC Brother, the jury is still out on the offense in the SEC. A better picture might be clearer starting next year with Tim Tebow as the QB. Are you coming to the Bash and are you and Paula coming to the LSU game? LT

Mr Smith, you are right that FSU(2) has more NCs than UF(1) I believe that the ONE NC that Florida has was at the expense of FSU 52-20! Ring a bell? As you probably know, in 1990 FSU was offered to join the SEC. Bowden said he would NOT play Auburn and Alabama every year so he tucked his tail between his legs and RAN to the ACC. Most knowledgeable CFB fans have discounted the ACC as a real power conference. That perception is now changing somewhat.

Can you honestly say after Florida has beaten FSU the last 2 years(The Swindle In The Swamp would be 3 years) that the direction has NOT changed in this series? If you can't see the change you are whistling past the graveyard. :lolBIG: :103631605  LT

Um, well since I became a fan of UF, FSU has never won a game. It's boring playing FSU, we always win. Sory if my sense of urgency isnt there, but i guess fall will be here soon enough. The world doesnt revolve around when you become a fan. UF owns the series history, head-to-head.

Who knows how many National Titles each team would have if they swapped conferences. We had a great team a few years back under Spurrier and had a devastating SEC loss to Auburn. We would of went to the National Title game. There have been plenty of years like that for Florida, because the conference schedule is incredibly difficult. You have to bring your A game every single week. If FSU has a slip up one week, there is no LSU, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, waiting to crush you and your mistakes. There is Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, etc. And they can have a bad game and still get by. That's why it's incredible for Auburn to go undefeated and not play for a National Title.

Well said Boxslayer. Scheduling and conference strength is 90% of the road to the title game. Your both lucky and good if you can overcome both.

Im just saying, you can have the best QB, the best RB, etc. but if you can't block that doesnt mean nothing. Its a whole nother ballgame when you have DEs & DTs in your backfield before your QB is able to step up in the pocket.

UF has won the past 2 out of 6 i believe against FSU. Likewise, we beat Miami once out of the past 6...you don't see us bragging how were SOOO much better than Miami & how they wont stand a chance.

I noticed that the teams that usually play for a National Title have a (somewhat) easy schedule. You can look back to the past 3-4 years to see that.
