Yeah, I noticed that too. Shepard Smith was behaving as if a great tragedy had befallen the country and somber tones were required.

Ha!
A great tragedy has befallen the US.

As soon as Obama won Ohio Fox news basically said it was over. This election was over and won at 9:20 EST.

I watched mostly Fox News, and nothing could be farther than the truth. They covered the results and acted just as they always do.

Now, if what you desire is a circle jerk, maybe because circle jerks help your IQ :missingte, you can choose to watch any other station.

It has been statistically proven by an independent organization, PEW, that Fox News is the only network reasonably balanced. Some of you are bad need of a clue.

Where the hell is Dick Morris and Hannity. Morris was absolutely delusional when looking at the polls.

Fox News doesn't use opinion oriented talk show hosts / guests to report election results.

If that's what you're looking for, you should once again choose one of the other "unbiased" networks that do.

I watched the election coverage last night on FOX as well. I liked their graphics along the bottom of the screen.

They did seem a bit somber at 10:01 when they announced that Obama had won.

Weird. Maybe you should check your reading comprehension skills...

From the link that you yourself provided:

"On Fox News, in contrast, coverage of Obama was more negative than the norm (40% of stories vs. 29% overall) and less positive (25% of stories vs. 36% generally). For McCain, the news channel was somewhat more positive (22% vs. 14% in the press overall) and substantially less negative (40% vs. 57% in the press overall)."

I know you really, really like to cling to your conservative fantasies, but you should at least be able to understand what you read.

There are legitimate arguments to be made on the conservative side of the political spectrum. This is not one of them.

The guy is a complete moron who cant even read simple English statements!
Can you imagine some one stupid to try and convince you that the only network in our history that has had two of its employees on live TV call for the killing of OBama is actually a fair network is a certified imbecile!

Thats all Willie is! apparently its the norm for news networks to go around advocating for the assassination of presidential candidates. That is a fair and balanced story according to the right wing kook posting that shit!

You know, I asked for the source because I expected it to be secretly-funded by the right-wingers. I was going to go through and post history on the people who conducted the supposedly-independent study to show their rightward leanings. I had fully assumed that the conclusions of the report were as he had stated.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the report was in fact generated by an independent, and that he had simply misunderstood its conclusions!

I guess such a narrow worldview affects even one's ability to read. So sad...

You mean Fox News is biased because they don't report with the bias as other networks? :ohno:

And you want to discuss comprehension skills now?

Lets stick to the raw data, shall we?

Overall media coverage (positive / negative) Obama 36/29 McCain 14/57

MSNBC Obama 43/14 McCain 10/73 (are you fucking kidding me?)

CNN Obama 36/39 McCain 13/61 (we have no bias
missingteeth.gif
)

Fox Obama 25/40 McCain 22/40 (
think2.gif
)

Fox's reporting on Obama and McCain is CONSISTENT, thus they're not biased. Using your reasoning, they're biased because they don't report with the same one sided bias the other networks do. Please

I love how picnono and this one have a circle jerk as they make assholes out of themselves. Gotta be the genes.

:nohead:

May God, or Obama, help your lost souls.

Alright, look, I didn't read the whole study because I don't care. But there's an underlying assumption that McCain and Obama are both equally worthy candidates. However, they're not, and the American people proved this yesterday.

Let's say that McCain predicted that the sun would not come up tomorrow. What would a fair and balanced network have to say about his prediction? Would you expect coverage that was negative, positive or mixed? How about the coverage tomorrow, after the sun had come up? Would you expect, negative, positive or mixed?

Fox is the most conservative network on the air by any measure. Whether they're too conservative, not conservative enough, or just right depends upon your own point of view.

Now, Willie, let's move on to another important question -- why are you so obsessed with circle jerks? What exaclty about jerking off with other guys appeals to you so much?

Or maybe if you vote 90% Democratic, and 90% of the money you donate goes to Democrats, you report news with Democratic bias, eh?

If you didn't read the story, then don't say things like I have comprehension issues, eh? that suggests You have read the story and understand it.

If you can't see the bias, and if the raw numbers about coverage doesn't mean anything to you, and if one magazine cover after another doesn't mean anything to you, I really can't help you.

As for the circle jerks, that's what you and your boy were doing as you headed down the wrong path together, hand in hand. How cute. :103631605

I defy you to make one post that doesn't use the phrase circle jerk.

Just one.

I apologize for questioning your reading comprehension skills. But, I clicked on the link, did a CTRL+F and typed Fox. The first thing that came back said that Fox was more likely to say negative stuff about Obama and positive stuff about McCain. Sounds like bias to me.

What if McCain announces today that the earth is flat. Do you want to watch the channel that says he's wrong, or the channel that says "views differ."

The point being that objectivity isn't all it's cracked up to be anyway. Some things are true, others not. Fox reports more untruths than any news outlet ever, and they do it in the service of a conservative agenda. This is patently true to all thinking people.
