Patriot,

Pancho,

"As a matter of fact this is what most of the winners of the super bowl do, play their best in December."

2002 Buccaneers
1999 Rams
1998 Broncos
1997 Broncos
1995 Cowboys
1994 49'ers
1992 Cowboys
1991 Redskins
1990 Giants
1988 49'ers
1987 Redskins
1985 Bears

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lou Your forgetting 1 team the 2001 Patriots.

No, they don't belong on that list. They did not lose a game in December, as all the above mentioned teams did.

Jaypaw,

And would you agree that field position is going to play a huge part in this game with the type of weather being forecast?

yep.

Field position will matter.

Although as you well know a 95 interception return for a td your own 5 yd line counts for 6 as much as a 50yd interception return on the 50...

thats why I say this one is a toss up and I would tend to lean to a pats win but a titans cover (with a gun to my head).

You say that the special teams would favor the titans but thats what Id like to explore some more...

Have the titans scored more points on special teams?

Which team has scored more with their defense?

Does it matter?

Maybe not - could be too cold.

Big Lou - I admire your undieing faith in your system plays - even though you proved beyond a shadow of a doubt to all of us that these plays don't work during the regular season, you still wade in during the play-offs, announce the SB winner, and try to beat down others that pick against Tenne - that's putting your cajones way out over the line - ouch.

Remember when you were actually thinking about going 'pro' and selling your regular season system picks? I still lmao every time I think about it. I'm guessing you're making a last-ditch effort to sell play-off picks next year. If Tenne wins this year, you look good and make some denaro as a tout next year when you probably lose tons of money for your followers.

Lou, you are a pretty good marketeer (and have generated a lot of interest and discourse on this site) and that is essential in being a successful tout. I hope you are correct as I placed on small bet on Tenne to win it all at the beginning of the year - but my pick was based on handicapping, not backfitting stats.

That does it. I'm betting both sides of this game. For a thousand units.

Actually, I'm from Massachusetts and I have some local knowledge that I haven't seen posted yet: The Pats are 1-0 in the Super Bowl when the Celtics suck.

If only the NFL played 82 a year...

I never knew Lou was a tout who tried to sell things.

Puts a whole new spin on his claims.

Pats won 14 games this year, historically, teams who dominate like this in the regualr season are almost unbeatable at home in the playoffs.

16 different times, teams have won at least 14 games in the regular season, this is their play off performance:

SU 22-5
ATS 18-9

These teams on average laid 8.5 points, If I insert a spread of -6 (same as NE is laying) in all these prior games, the ATS figure is 22-7.

8 of these teams won the super bowl, 5 made it and lost, 3 never reached the superbowl.

you wanna know the most ridiculous thing about this game, aside from this thread(lol....just kidding guys).........

it`s the nfl.....the authorities in new england are trying to get homeless people off the streets so they don`t freeze to death....it`s as cold as it`s ever been in a naturally cold climate....

so the nfl has the game that`s played in a dome,go at 4:30.......and decides to have 80,000 people trek out to a game that will be played in temperatures that have the potential to kill a number of people......and play it at night when it will actually be much colder than if the game were played earlier in the day....

g.l.,new englanders...it`s gonna be a b-tch out there....

it`s so cold on the east coast that in washington, the politicians actually have their hands in their OWN pockets....

I disagree with people who are betting on New England because I truly believe they are on the wrong side. They do fall into a category I track of teams that peak too early and the bye week actually hurts them rather then helps them. (I listed those teams above). Even if I never started that Super Bowl thread which has Tennessee winning it all I would still be taking them to win this game SU. That is no joke.

I have decided to put all my efforts into handicapping the post-season because there is tremendous value there. You have been here for awhile and have seen my playoff picks, which have now gone 15-5-1 ATS counting last weeks contests over the past three seasons. That number will be even better after Super Bowl Sunday. Nothing can stop you when you have the utmost confidence in yourself and what you do.

Everyone seems to think this game is easy money. They're right. Except all the value is on the underdog, not the favorite. Good luck to you.

Are you saying because of that game in September, NE is a phony team?

I remember the 94 49ers who won the Superbowl, they got beat by Phill 40-8 in the regular season.

Can you explain that one?

So Tenn lost 33-7 to INDY this year and that doesn't count against them?

The more you post , the more you confuse me.

I can see 17-7 Pats.

Why exactly, margin of victory, opponent?

Many super bowl winners have gone down big in the regular season.

I guess 1 game carries more weight than the other 15 combined or is this one of you filters to weed out phonies?

That game was the first game of the year to the Bills on the road after the Pats dumped their then Captain Lawyer Milloy...since then they have gone 14-1....they resolved that beating by Buffalo to pay them back by the score of....31-0......This team has given up 22 points at home in the last 6 games....By the way just to tell you how focused they have been this year they went 4-0 in preaseason and have been practicing in this 0 degree weather at night,....betwwen the two teams which one do you think will be dropping passes????

Tennessee also has practiced at night. This week the temps were around 6 and 7 degrees overnight. They've practiced in the cold, believe me. Tenn doesn't have any problems with cold weather. When you put up a record that is .500 in cold weather..... then cold weather isn't a factor. I'm also playing the "heart factor".
Big Lou, I'm a "homer" in this situtation, but I played the Titans +6 and ML +250. 6 pts is way too many here.
