Thanks guys. These lower-league teams from the Superettan league are not doing well in the new season of the better league of the Allsvenskan.

Spain - Primera Liga
Saragossa 2.55 over Getafe
I hate to bet such a public pick, especially on the road. But I feel there are circumstances that warrant it in this situation. Getafe played 120 minutes against Bayern on Thursday in the UEFA Cup only to have the German team score 2 late goals to end in a 3-3 draw. This has to be disheartening for Getafe who played most of the match with only 10 men due to a red card in the 6th minute.

Getafe will be playing the Cup final against Valencia on Wednesday. I can't imagine they will put much importance on this Liga match here. Saragossa is fighting to escape relegation and will look at this match as a good way to pick up 3 points.

Denmark - Division 1
AB Copenhagen pk 1.98 over Herfogle
These are two even teams. Each does much better at home than they do on the road. In fact Herfogle has only beaten a couple weak teams on the road this season. Yes, perhaps we will get another draw here but with the odds at pk I see little risk with the possibility of a unit gain.

Holland - Eredivisie
Nijmegen -0.5 1.99 over Vitesse Arnhem

This is the Gelderland Derby so both teams will have an interest in this match. Also at stake is 9th place in the Eredivise which will allow the team to be able to participate in the playoffs for the UEFA Cup spot.

Nijmegen has been playing so much better and will be at home.

I should have gone for half on the win and half on the draw since the odds on the draw were 3.20.

Copenhagen 0, Herfogle 2, Loss, -1.00

Nijmegen 1, Vitesse 0, WINNER!!, +0.99
Nijmegen comes through for me once again.

Sweden - Allsvenskan
Kalmar -1 1.93 over GAIS Goteborg

One of the nice things about the Swedish leagues is that there is a greater disparity between the top teams and the lower teams. When the linesmaker looks at the 3-way line they translate that into the equivalent Asian Handicap. However, since the top teams are much better than the lower teams you have matches with the stronger team winning by more than 1. That's why I feel that this Asian Handicap is a good bet. I don't see Kalmar taking a draw here. Kalmar finished 1 point out of first in last year's league while Goteborg finished in the lower half.

Just wondering, what book you use for your plays.

Was going to follow, but Bookmaker.com doesn't have AH on the match.

Sweden - Superettan
Bunkeflo +0.5 2.00 over Orgryte

I feel the line is off here, probably because it's the first match of the season. Last season Bunkeflo had the 2nd best road record and finished 5th overall. Orgryte finished 13th out of 16.

Just paying you back for your winners.

Perhaps I should just stick to Scandinavian soccer. I think I'm something like 6-2-1 with those.

Kalmar 4, GAIS 0, WINNER, +0.93
Inglesten gets the hat trick. I think I might have a new favorite team.

Bunkeflo 0, Orgryte 0, WINNER, +1.00

Sweden - Superettan
Degerfors IF pk 2.00 over IK Sirius Uppsala

Uppsala is horrible away from home only winning 2 road victories in 15 road matches last year. Perhaps when they are at home they have the ghosts of Celsius and Ångström to help them win matches.

Degerfors finished just below Uppsala in the tables. For most of the year they were farther down and I'm thinking that is why Uppsala gets too much respect here. However, Degerfors finished the season with 6 straight victories. This gives them confidence to do well at home to start out the new season amongst the league leaders.

Previously, Sirius hadn't scored more than 2 goals on the road since August 2006.

Hoping to bounce back from my loss in the Superettan with a few picks from the Allsvenskan.

Sweden - Allsvenskan

Wednesday

Halmstads BK pk 1.82 over IFK Norrköping
Halmstads was a middle of the table team last year. This year they played to a draw with last year's league champion IFK Göteborg and lost by one on the road to this year's leader Djurgarden.

Norrköping played in the lower Superettan league last year. However, the 3 Superettan teams that advanced to the Allsvenskan this year have proven how much of a disparity there is between leagues. The cummulative record for the 3 teams is 1 win, 1 draw and 10 losses. The only victory was when one former Superettan team beat another.

Point being, an Allsvenskan team that has played decently is playing a former Superettan team.

Djurgårdens IF FF -0.5 2.20 over Örebro SK
Djurgårdens is tied for the league lead with Kalmar and has won both road matches this year. Örebro finished in 12th out of 14th last year and was the lowest team in the league not to be relegated. This year they have not done much better.

I'm so excited about this week's picks I've decided to include Thursday's picks here as well.

Thursday

IF Elfsborg -1 2.07 over Ljungskile
Again, we have a middle of the table team from last year playing a former Superettan team. Ljungskile has lost all its games by 1 goal or more this season including losing 0-4 to former Superettan team Sundsvall.

Kalmar FF -0.5 2.05 GIF Sundsvall (3 units)
A 3rd Superettan team playing an Allsvenskan team. Except we have a twist. Kalmar is at the top of the tables and has 4 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw this season. They have been blowing teams out and winning on the road. I like them so much I made them my avatar. The reason this line is at -0.5 is because Sundsvall won 4-0 last match. The only catch is that it was against another former Superettan team Ljungskile so they are getting too much respect here.

Like the games today, not sure if you had that choice or not but i would rather be little cautious, play it little safer and pick Djurgårdens pk too,as The two favorites today are still playing on the road and not home.

My books didn't have Djurgårdens at pk when I posted this last night. I see it's at 1.61 if you prefer that.

Thanks for the input.
