EURO 2004 from Germany

If people realise that nobody knows the outcome of an event then maybe they would concentrate on the more important thing, the odds. One thing that really bugs me in these Forums is posters talking about public money, squares and sharps, as if they are in the know.

I have known squares, losing players as I would call them hit 20+ winners on the trot and I have known some of the sharpest gamblers in London go on a losing streak that almost broke them.

Its all in the odds and everyone, public , squares and sharps will be on both sides of a 2 horse race for different reasons. Tonight I laid Germany because I thought the price should have been bigger. I also laid Holland for the same reasons and lost.

When I have a bet I always ask myself, if this loses, will I feel I have been mugged. If the answer is yes, then I dont bet it. The biggest part of betting is being happy with your losers.

as i dont see much difference betwenn the teams i take the plus money and the tendency of the tournament for upsets.
Only thing for sure..both teams are capable of scoring so should be an entertaining match.

Why not. They did it against the dutch they held the czech scoreless, they already know they can beat portugal..i'll go for a repeat of the "denmark"-story we saw a few years ago.

Portugal – Greece

In this final is the clear favourite in my opinion Portugal. I don’t want say that Greece played not a good football but they were in no game the better team. Against Czech Rep. they had a lot of luck and the luck that the offense of the Czechs was at this day not the best one. Portugal played a very good game against the Netherlands – concentrated and very good offense playing. And they have now a positive pressure to win in their own country the title and so I think they are a little bit more motivated. I bet on Portugal as the Tournament Winner for a nice 1.40 !

A winner for me to end the EURO 2004.
And nobody can say that greece did not deserve it. maybe they are not playing the best offensive football, but not as some other teams(italy, spain), they scored in every match.
They have beaten portugal twice, get by Spin in group, beat france and czech.
What else do you expect from a winner.
