Good results on wednesday's WC qualifiers. Now on to EPL:
Chelsea -1 @ -135
Tottenham/Manchester United OVER 2.5 @ EVEN
Liverpool/Burnley UNDER 3 @ -130
Sunderland/Hull OVER 2 @ -145
Chelsea will travel to the Britannia Stadium where they will face Stoke City. Stoke City has had a good start to the season (for their standards) and now have seven points from four games. The statistic is that Stoke has three clean sheets in four games. Combine that with their decent start to the season and you have many people who are hesitant to bet against Stoke. What does all this mean to me? Absolutely nothing. Chelsea’s start to the season is much better as they received maximum points from the four games they have played. Chelsea knows that these are the type of games they cannot afford to give up any points in, if they want to win the title this season. They will keep that in mind on the road here. If you look at Stoke’s results, their schedule has been fairly easy. The only opponent they lost to in their four games was Liverpool away by the score of 0-4. This is what will happen when they play more difficult squads. Chelsea is better than Liverpool at the moment so even on the road you can expect them to get a 2-0 result here, which is why I am playing Chelsea -1.
Tottenham will host Manchester United at White Hart Lane and I expect this game to be a good one. Tottenham loves to attack and not only do they attack, they score goals. I love what this team has become and they definitely play some entertaining football. Tottenham looks impressive for lack of a better term and they have scored eleven goals from four games. They have attacking minded players and lethal finishers in Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe. Not to mention Aaron Lennon who surely has the pace/skill to cause some havoc on the flanks. For Manchester United you have Rooney who has been in great goal-scoring form. It will be hard to keep him off the scoresheet and I expect him to pick up a goal or an assist in this game. Manchester United has eight goals in four games and they will be looking to pick up the points here at White Hart Lane. I see these game ending 2-1 or 2-2, which is why I am playing on the OVER.
Liverpool will host Burnley at home. Although Liverpool hasn’t had the best start so far and their team does look a little unimpressive, I believe they are in the midst of finding their form, and we will see it against Burnley. Burnley has had a surprise win over Manchester United as well as Everton. Their defense will look to play a solid game and maybe they will, but it won’t be enough to hold off Liverpool. This game reminds me of the Chelsea/Burnley game where I had selected Chelsea to win at home by more than two goals. Chelsea won by three. I don’t think Liverpool is the team Chelsea is at the moment and I am going to bank on Burnley studying their mistakes from that Chelsea game. Burnley gives it their all, but falls short 0-2, which is why I am playing the UNDER 3. Worst case scenario a 0-3 Liverpool result for the push.
Sunderland will host Hull City on Saturday. I bet on Hull City twice this year and they have won me the money both times. However, I am going to stay away from the sides in this game (even though I think Hull will cover the spread). Sunderland has found a way to score in three out of four games this season (three goals from two games at home) and I am confident they will get one for sure here. Maybe they will get two. Hull City has scored a goal in all four of their games and this game won’t be any different with the new signing of Vennegoor of Hesselink. Hesselink has made it clear that he chose to sign with Hull because he wants to be a clear target for the Dutch national team. That is his goal, so you can expect him to try to get on the right foot with a good match. I like Hull to score two in this game and go on to win 2-1, which is why I am playing the OVER. Worst case scenario? 1-1 draw for the push.
Good luck bettors and enjoy a good footy weekend!
