Agree.
I know he's made some bad throws this season and made some bad decisions. That's on him. But if anyone has really watched Eagles games this season, they will see that his offensive line is absolute garbage. He's under siege almost every drop back. And for the most part, his receivers just aren't getting open with any regularity. And the loss of Zach Ertz, and Goedert for a long stretch was also a killer. I think a good number of his bad decisions are from pressing. Just trying to do too much.
I'm still not selling my Wentz stock..
All that might be true. But the bigger problem is even when his team is healthy and his weapons are there...he still has looked like shit the last couple years. He had a decent run to get into playoffs last year, all against really bad teams.
I have no idea how he got so bad. He had a really solid rookie season.. followed by a great 2nd season where he improved in every facet. His accuracy improved, deep ball improved dramatically, pocket prescense and feel, everything seemed great. All those facets seemed to drop back in 2018 and 2019 , people made excuses , injuries, etc. Now in 2020 totally healthy he has fallin off a cliff in every facet! Now accuracy, no pocket feel, poor decision making. It can't all be blamed on his teammates.
On Philly talk radio there was some really damning stats. Only like 6 QB's have ever had a yearly QB rating drop off as bad as Wentz's this season. Those QB's included almost all big names, Peyton Manning, Brett Farve and a couple stars.
In each case it was their last season before retirement!
The only player in the group who wasn't a superstar was Mark Rypien, and he only started another 6 games in his career after the drop off. So in the history of football no player with a drop off like this has ever turned it around. Few players have ever even been able to far so far so fast and it's almost always a former great giving one least season only to find they were totally shot.
