Fair warning = I watched Morgan play quite a bit, I can only say he made the Hall of Famers and All-Stars better than they would have been without him. He played the game with incredible intelligence, kind of like Bill Russell did at his prime in the NBA. I have always been suprized Morgan never became a manager, I quess he is content to work for ESPN baseball.

Phillies hire Ryne Sandberg as Triple-A manager
Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg, passed over for the Chicago Cubs' managerial opening, was hired Monday by the Philadelphia Phillies to be their Triple-A manager.
Sandberg, 51, will manage the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the International League.
Sandberg spent the last four years managing in the Cubs' minor-league system. He was selected as the Pacific Coast League's manager of the year after leading the Iowa Cubs to a tie for the best record in the Northern Division.
Sandberg, bitterly disappointed he was passed over by the Cubs, rejected offers to return to Iowa or be on the Cubs' coaching staff.
