debate this game in your head not here. doing it here screws up your good judgement with so many opinions. who is the better team? whos the better conference? isnt the AFC at least 20 games better than the NFC in interconference play this year? i dont bet against that patriot coach or the oddsmakers. what a great game they play. making a 15-1 home team a 3 pt dog in a title game knowing half the bettors would consider that a gift. and knowing splitting all the action wont ruin them. now they have even more squares about to unload on teams they havent seen all year. ya know when the line will really move? the day its announced whether TO will play in this game or not. then we will have alot to talk about. because uncle bob from podunk and his buddys in vegas for the 1st time will hear about how this TO will be playing in the big game and they will bet blindly. even if TO plays how effective could anyone be not playing for so long in the biggest pressure cooker in all of sports? he could be nothing more than a decoy. not many could return to world class performance levels after being out so long. i know the eagles are a worthy opponent but they will need every player to show up with the same crazy intensity that trotter and mcnabb did and im betting alot of those guys will be starstruck. the patriots are professionals who know how to finish what they started.but what do i know?lolol.~RG

The superbowl is one game that players know as well as anyone that the pointspread really does matter. They know that everyone in their city will be laying the points(if favored of course) and how pissed off and disapointed A LOT OF PEOPLE will be if they don't win AND cover.

Here's a thought suppose Ried decides to spread the offense and take those great Patriot linebackers off the field by going 4 or 5 wide.....I thought the Colts would do this and take advantage of the young corners but they didnt....Just a thought...Also if the Eagles O line gives Mcnabb time and the vertical passing game opens up (Eagles take 4 or 5 shots down the field every game) these corners and Harrison can be exploited...I think this game comes down to the trenches and the game plan...Belichik is a D guru but I'll also be looking for an over....

McNabb wasn't a rookie last year... How many int did he has in the NFC Final?? 3? 5?

However I'm going with PHI to cap the spread... 7 will be 7.5 or 8 soon then I'll take PHI as everyone that likes underdog in a final game... (in conf. championships I took ATL +6 and lost this time no Mistake)... NE could win without covering the spread...

Remember the Panthers last year.....no one gave them a chance. I will admit that NE is a better team from a better conference.....but come on, the Jets beating philly. Pennington could barely move his arm.

I like the points, but then again I can't bet against my team.

I think that a team who has no pressure on them will play incredibly loose and will be dangerous.

Much different team last year...people need to get that. McNabb had fractured ribs and could barely throw the ball. The wideouts were green and had stone hands. No Trotter, no Douglas, no Hollis Thomas...all were on other teams and/or injured. No Dhani Jones. No Lito and Sheldon at CB (aging Taylor and Vincent were back there). This is NOT last year's team and they proved that by getting to the Super Bowl without their best weapon on offense.

Don't buy the Patriots "mystique". Everyone bought the Green Bay Packer "outside at Lambeau in cold weather vs a dome team in Minny" and what happened. Everyone bought the "it's too many points Minny could win outright!" myth and bought the line down from 10 to 7.5. Eagles won and covered double digits.

We couldn't stop the Atlanta running game. Vick was going to run wild on the Eagle defense. The combination of Duckett and Dunn was too great to overcome. We've heard it all.

The more you doubt them the more you feed the need for them to win this game.

The Patriots "mystique"???:ughhh:

Nothing mystical about them if you look at the numbers.

Brady hasn't lost a game in the playoffs
Vinitieri is money in the bank kicking field goals
Belichick is a master when it comes to coaching and getting the team to play as a team.....now he's got two weeks to gameplan for a team that took four years to finally win the NFC championship.....

The playoff numbers this team is putting up are almost par with the great Lombardi's...

16-2 against the spread this year, the books may be balancing the money with the numbers being put out on the Pats games but obviously they are getting no respect having covered this many.....

The points only matter around 20 to 25% of the time.....if you bet Philly you best be thinking that dog is going to win, because history says if a dog doesn't win they also lose ATS 75 to 80% of the time......

I'm seeing a lot of threads in this forum that speak of Philly the same way Pittsburgh was being spoken of last week.....

My only regret is that I didn't get on the Pats train sooner on thier money earning run against the spread this year.....

I'm not even thinking about Philly unless I can get double digits.....

McNabb hasn't lost a game in the playoffs either: Minny W Atlanta W
Akers is also money in the bank kicking field goals
Reid has never lost after a bye EVER and now he has 2 weeks to prepare for a team that got a dome baby outdoors in a terrible storm in their first playoff game and a rookie QB who imploded in the other.

Wow this is going to be easier than I thought. Eagles moneyline.

"McNabb hasn't lost a game in the playoffs either"

So who was playing QB when philly lost the last three NFC championships?

I wish TO was actually playing, then I could buy NE a little cheaper.

You haven't answered my question: Who was playing QB for Philly when they lost the last three NFC championships?

Here's the real story on McNabb's NFC Championship games for people that don't follow the Eagles (i.e. Patriot fans):

If you really want to break it down the only NFC Championship I blame him for losing would be the Tampa Bay one (then the Bucs went and destroyed the AFC Powerhouse Oakland Raiders).

Last year he had fractured ribs and a bad ankle and really hurt the Birds with his lack of mobility and throwing motion. When he did hit his wideouts they couldn't catch the football. The Eagles beat themselves last year (and with a healthy McNabb this year beat the Panthers 30-8).

The Rams game wasn't his fault either. They weren't the best team on the field that day (unlike this Super Bowl where they will be the best team on the field).

can Philly WIN ??? NOT !!

Beatching Birds will be taken apart just like Pitt was last week. I think some people posting in here should stop with all the drugs. I am not a pats Fan nor will I ever be .. But get REAL The birds got closer then last year .. Be happy for that... SO many BS stories about Owens ... everyone crying about him being out for the SB ... LOL AS IF it really matters ... Healthy TO or NO TO .. same result .. Pats win by 10 . This is about a dominate team a Dynasty. SO everyone stop thinking its already Over.

GInseng3 tellin it - like it is.

No

They've already achieved what they haven't been able to the last 3 years. I think at the end of the day on Sunday, they'll be happy that they were conference champs and just happy to get a free trip to JAX. NE will be all business and Philly will be the deer in the headlights! Sorry Philly fans, just an unbiased opionion from somene that doesn't care for either team.

And so it goes......

Of course they could..This match-up is not as lopsided as people are making it out. Philly matches up very well against this team. Don't be fooled. Ml of +250 (currently at CRIS) provides awesome value. just my 2 cents.
