yeah they were aligned and yes they knew a lot of astronomy and also math (geometry) they HAD too as the Nile CONSTANTLY flooded their lands (you need math to know where MY land is etc)
and yes, when people are convinced that the sky can tell them whats going to happen (religion) they go to great lengths to record just about everything up there and when things look "bad" (eclipses...) then get ready because someone is going to be sacrificed to get the Sun back

Seems like we're only talking about the Egyptians here. What about the "other" pyramids that were built on other continents where there were no Egyptians? Like the Mayans for example. And these pyramids had the same alignment as the Egyptian pyramids. It's a long walk from Central America to the Middle East.

what's the point? that civilizations far apart also looked at the sky and thought that their fate was related to that? that is common in all mankind. what does that show? that we are gullible and constantly look at the stars for the answers to our silly problems

In one of those NONSENSICAL shows that do nothing but generate good ratings......they mentioned that the stone balls that are found in Costa Rica are.......guiding points to the SPACEPORT that was located in Puntarenas (one of our cities....in the Pacific)

You just have to wonder, if the Egyptians were so far advanced than the rest of civilization, how did the others catch up to them and come up with the same ideas of building pyramids? Since they obviously couldn't walk from one country to the other, or even take a boat so far away, how did each one know what the other one was doing? It only makes sense that "someone" had to show them the way. They couldn't read about it in National Geographic.

I think that building things in the shape of a Pyramid would just seem like the beginners way to build large architecture. It doesn't surprise me that others were thinking the same thing, far away that have never met. Often in history the same good ideas have occurred, by others, that have never met or knew of each other.
why looking at the sky? = because they didnt have tv, because it was unreachable and mysterious, because the night sky is something many of us has never really appreciated since we can hardly spot a star in our light-contaminated skies, because they saw things in there they couldn't comprehend and then tried to associate them to their good fortune or impending disasters (same as TODAY)

I just think that looking up at the sky....although it might be they had nothing else to do....had a lot more to do with something they saw up there. It's just not a natural reaction to look up to the sky if there wasn't anything happening up there. When they did all their drawings in the caves and elsewhere, they were trying to copy things they saw around them. Even in the Bible they mention about things that were in the air and having fire come out of their "ships". There's just too many drawings around the world that depict "spacemen" lying down in their seats with a "oxygen mask" covering their faces. They had no idea what these masks were, so they just copied what they saw. Makes sense to me.
And while we're at it, how do you explain those "drawings" in Peru I believe, that could only be viewed from the sky. Around them seems to be a landing strip. Well you have to be flying to have a landing strip.

it IS a natural reaction to look at the sky, I already explained why it NEEDS to be done if you are trying to have an agricultural society. If you are awake at night without tv in the open fields .....WHAT are you going to do????????? Seriously, answer this , WHAT would you do????? I would be looking at the stars and doing what we humans are really good at, trying to see patterns where there are not (constellations) and letting our imagination roam free and then wondering why the stars move with each day and each month, it would seem we have two types of stars...fixed and 'wanderers'...and so astronomy is born
