This poll is disgusting. The poll itself reflects one's politics. Whoever runs this site cannot make a straight forward decision. Instead, they throw a popularity poll (call it whatever you like, right now it's a popularity poll) like some coliseum display for the masses. It's very nature lends itself to those who want someone banned. Why didn't you just make it a one sided poll and see how many voted for the ban, and then count anyone on the site who did not vote as an implicit acceptance of Doc? Hands up all those who think Doc's ok but can't be bothered to vote - oops, better cut them out. It's Ohio rigging in a forum. Shame.

it's been quite a while since i posted on the political forum. when i was recovering from knee surgery, and out of work, with time on my hands, i used to enjoy the lively banter here, though doc m often raised my blood pressure.

my first thought was, what will he do all day now? it seemed like he spent every minute of every day posting here. jeeze, i was on total disability, but i never had as much time to post as he did.

i also doubt that he was really a practicing doctor (as i am). when the debates got heated, i would ask some insightful questions about my proffesion and how it relates to his opinions, and he became unchacteristically silent. all doctors that i know have their stongest opinions regarding medicine in today's world, and he was strangely silent. there are some doctors who no longer practice for whatever reason (health, loss of license, misconduct, or various other reasons) that are totally bitter and carry on like him. who knows? whenever i called him out on the carpet, he never resonded, as if he had something to hide.jmo.

All these unsolved crimes in society and you focus your intuitive skills to determine that a guy who posts almost 24 hours a day using the name "Doc Mercer" really isn't a doctor. :103631605

Have you given any thought to user KingBill?

no, as a matter of fact yesterday i focused my intuitive skills on a 13 year old girl with abdominal pain. i correctly diagnosed appendicitis, performed an appenectomy and saved her life. she is now at home, enjoying her life.
my posts here are a small diversion for entertainment, dickhead. and what is it you do with you intuitive skills, genius?

blah blah blah. It's been so long since you graced the forum with tales of your life saving prowess.

An appenectomy you say? I hope that's not as serious as an appendectomy. Oh yeah I forgot, you're a doctor so it's not vital that you actually know how to compose a proper sentence or spell insignificant words like "appendectomy".

Hey, there's a Chef Capone on the site. No way that fucker can still be running hooch AND cooking up a good meal is there? Someone needs to expose him. If you're not too busy saving lives, maybe you're up to the task?

To the Doc-Mobile!

Hey, I know Chef Capone (his last name really is Capone). He once wrote that he uses that handle because he was the best damn cocaine cook on the whole north shore of Boston. I believe there is some truth to that claim.

Seems Awful Dead Around here W/O Doc!

Has anybody noticed that it's hard to get a quick reply to a post around here the las couple of days? That can only mean one thing (maybe 2):
(1) There are less people posting as much b/c Doc kept everybody
entertained, or
(2) Maybe Doc did take up a lot of space, but:

Nobody Seems to be Using IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:party::party::party::party:
It Just Makes Good Common Sense to Have a Guy Like Doc Mercer Around! This Place was so much more Enerteining!!!!!!

Like I said earlier, before long if the righties want to have a debate, they'll have to take turns pretending to be the godless liberal. Just like FOX.

Yungbuck, it's much better without doc around. We had the first real debate in a while in the Capitalist thread. Quality is better than quantity. There is no coincidence that just about every single regular poster wanted doc gone. The only ones who wanted to keep him here are the ones like tablarasa, yungbuck, and the other guys who rarely ever post.

The 2+2 forums has the same threads they've had for days but they have a much better political science forum because they ban spammers.

Plenty of posters who post a lot support doc and did not him banned - myself included. Several of those posters have actually followed doc over to shrinks site. I have actually started posting there for the first time since being put on post review and that forum is already more interesting than this one despite the fact that it was basically a ghost town last time I posted there.. The mods have succeeded in ruining a good forum here. Way to go wilhiem!

I don't agree at all with that. What'll ruin it is if guys like you and other our our fellow lefties quit and run. Real good strategy. Just give up.
