NE now has 5 players opting out Willie. It's all a coincidence.

I don’t see guys from any team sitting for the reason you asked in first post. Would some teams not mind it working out that way for them? Absolutely. If any coach could get away with a tank it is Bill B. I don’t ever see him doing it unless it is last game and a loss locks a top 3 pick up.

For Ne, Cannon beat cancer at beginning of career. He has made money and to me it is a no brainer to sit out. Hightower has had an amazing career already. Smart to wait until back end of career to have 1st child. Can’t blame him for sitting out either. This was last year of his deal in ne too and will be biggest loss by far on d for Patriots.

There will be a bunch more guys opting out as deadline gets closer.

I've been here a long time guy. These 2-3 bashers have been at it for years. Just another day.

1/2 the threads on this forum are people trolling and/or bashing each other. This thread is a little different though.

Might have something to do with the original post and the content. Doesn't seem very well thought out to me. And it seems I'm not the only one that shares that opinion.

Yup. The NFL is a business. Owners do what's best for what they deem is the best interest of the organization. GM's, coaches, etc do what's best for the organization. At least while they are employed by that orgaization.

Players do what's best for their careers. Period. The better they play, the more games they win, the more money they make. As soon as they are cut, are traded, etc., the loyalty to that organization in many cases decreases dramatically. For obvious reasons.

Not one player (unless they were compensated behind the scenes) would ever sit a year out under any circumstances with the main purpose of helping an organization have a shot at drafting a top prospect. They might sit out for other reasons. But certainly not that. Never.

That was all I was referring to. Thanks for the intelligent well thought out response. Others missed it.

Or, are they not that smart?

The fact you think this would be a "smart" decision for NFL players to make says it all.

You gotta stop overdosing on that Clay Travis man. The guy is just sparking entertaining discussion for mouthbreathers. It isn't meant to be thought provoking.

No it’s not .
That is not at all what you said in the OP.
Not even close .

You actually said it would be smart of NFL players to opt out of a 7 or 8 figure paycheck so a team could draft a player the next season .

Let that sink in for a second

Will Trevor Lawrence opt into his senior year at Clemson if the Jets get the #1 pick?

Probably a wise move.

(tongue in cheek)

Seems a lot of posters I have blocked and haven't talked to in months are commenting for some reason or another. They know they won't get a response. Waste of their time.

Ask me if I care.

When people say dumb things, it makes others wonder if it's because they are dumb. We all slip up and do/say dumb shit now and then. That's why I said shake it off and move on.

If you don't care if you say dumb things that make you look dumb, then good for you. I guess.

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.

Dial it back. My opinions in this thread are strictly speaking of your thoughts in this thread. I don't know you from Adam. And I don't need to know you to have the opinion that this thread is not very well thought out.

You inferred that you don't care what people think of you and your thoughts. I'm starting to believe that might be BS.
