Saying Goodluck. Thankyou. Thanks for sharing doesn't jinx anything.

It is when the sheep/mushes feel the need to come into a cappers thread to tell them how much they love the play. Like you do. No one posting their play is looking for your approval or anyone else's. If they were they wouldn't of posted the play.

I don't understand why people feel the need to reassure the O.P that they love the pick. 90% of the time that is said the play loses. That is a MUSH. Especially if it happens over and over again. These aren't respected cappers reassuring the play. Or friends of the O.P.

Like I said if you believe in good luck then you should believe in bad luck. And unintentional bad luck

Unfortunately, Mob, you don't run the Rx.

I guess you need to read Betallsports' comment in Kevy's thread again. It applies to ANY thread in the Rx's sports forums.

I see that Reno did his job, but I want to point out Again to many Posters out there. This is NOT just kevy's & Crew's Thread.
As long as it's not Out Right Bashing or Trolling ( ala Sunshine ) You need to take the Good and the Bad.

Easy way to settle the Mush thing ( if you believe that crap ) is take it to the Tracking Forum where NOBODY else can Post in Your Thread.

Of course we all know that wouldn't happen, because the "Crew" can't come along.

Again, this is NOT a Private Thread.....

Thanks & Good luck moving forward

Even Kevy had to let the group know he doesn't believe in that mush nonsense and doesn't condone that type of jibber jabber from you (or others) in his thread.

I don't believe in the cooler or mush stuff either.

I now declare the following:

No more calling other posters in my thread (s) the following:

Mush
Cooler
Jinx
Black Cat
Unlucky
Cousin Oliver
Dark Cloud

Nor will we use the following type of speech when a fellow poster is on a play:

Dear God No
Why God
For The Love Of God
Kill Me Now
We're Screwed
Dammit
Oh No
F*ck Me

No more words or sayings that hurt or reference something
And or someone (s) being un-lucky and or anything like that.

This is effective as of Monday July 6th 2015

Nah I get that obviously. But that's clearly not what I am talking about.

My point was to say. ...you can't choose one of those incidents. You either believe in both or neither. A person thanking a poster for a premature winner may not have any affect on the outcome. But everyone here hates when people do that. So it is in the same ball park as mushing. It is apart of gambling that you respect. Superstitions. Because the guy making that statement in the 7th inning doesn't really change the outcome of the game does it?

I already told you I concur with your sentiment that congratulating a game BEFORE it goes final on a ML or UNDER play in MLB is bad form. No disagreement there.

Lol where did I indicate in here that I run the Rx? I don't care what Kevy thinks on this matter. We all have brains of our own. Therefore instead of telling the O.p how much you love his play....how about picking plays on your own for once? And stop trolling as much. Just a suggestion because remember I am not a Mod.

And I shall do the same if I ever get back to Bangkok.....Been to Nana but never been to Soi Cowboy......I try and make the horse races once in awhile.....
Viejo, never been to Soi Cowboy? When you come to Bangkok, we'll hit up Crazy House there. Look it up. Top shelf talent there! :devilex:

I don't think we converse well. Seems to be a gap of misunderstanding. What I am saying is....you defending that makes my point more valid.

Someone coming into a thread in the 7th inning to prematurely thank the o.p for a win. No one likes right?
What I am saying is that is a superstition that 99% of gamblers on here would be annoyed by. Being a mush is also a Superstition. If you believe that people shouldn't prematurely thank posters for wins. ...then you should also believe in mushes because these two incidents go hand in hand.

I never said you ran the Rx. Nice try at twisting my words. I said it's unfortunate (for you,) you don't run the Rx.

Looks like you'll have to deal with my posts, my man. Wishing an OP good luck and telling him I like his play isn't trolling or mushing. That's a stretch.

As Betallsports says, as long as it's not outright bashing or trolling, you need to take the good with the bad.

These threads aren't private. They're public. Everyone is welcomed to post in a civil manner. @)

Again, I agree. No one likes someone coming into a thread in the 7th inning and thanking him for a ML winner or UNDER winner BEFORE the final out is recorded. Anything can happen in those final innings.

If it's an OVER that's already been achieved by the 5th inning, no harm no foul IMO.

I'm saying those are two different and distinct examples. They're NOT the same.

Believe in mushes? Again, majority of folks are intelligent enough to know that's a bunch of hogwash. If you want to believe in them, fine. I certainly don't. No one poster or individual out of billions of people on this planet has the capability of influencing the outcome of a specific sports bet. We can agree to disagree on that. (<)<

I specifically referenced the unique example of a MLB OVERS play that hits BEFORE the final out in the 9th inning. I see no harm in congratulating the OP if he hits his OVER in the 5th inning. You worried runs will mysteriously disappear? :think2:

but they have been called for rain so no reason to say anything early :ohno:

Mush

To mush means to create bad luck for others in gambling situations. The mush is also considered to be a sort of invisible force that brings bad beats and generally unlucky outcomes in gambling games – a jinx or a hex, if you will. This term may also be used when referring to a particularly ill-starred person.

Trivia

The term was popularized by Robert De Niro’s “A Bronx Tale,” which included a famous quote: “Eddie Mush was a degenerate gambler. He was also the biggest loser in the whole world. They called him mush because everything he touched turned to mush.”

Robert De Niro initially had trouble finding a suitable actor to portray Eddie Mush, so he asked Chazz Palminteri if they could find the real Eddie Mush to play himself. They found Eddie Montanaro in the same neighborhood still losing bets. When they casted him, they became worried that he might “jinx” the film. On Eddie’s first day of filming, it rained.

Damn did not know that.

Sounds like it wasn't so fictional as people think

I don't believe in broken mirrors, walking under ladders, or black cats crossing your path....I believe in stone, cold losers who can not pick winners and will always wind up on the wrong side....those kind of guys have a few good days but lose overall for months on end.....so when they wind up on my side, I am very cautious and might buy the whole side back....this has been good for me more times than not....

HaHa...Only a true ticket writer knows this is for real...Nothing like being on the other end of a phone with someone who is a stone cold loser and every time they call you can hear it in their voice...It takes true talent to recognize this and will guarantee it saved me 100's of thousands of dollars...More than70% of the time the bets that were bought back cashed...Unless you have done it,it seems surreal...As far as these idiots that post their plays on message boards,no one knows if they really have a quarter on the game...Anyone can shoot pool until they lay that 5 dollar bill on the table...

Notice in that scene above from "Bronx Tales" what Sonny said about the horse Kryptonite as it was in the lead .....

"IT'S A LOCK!"

That's what cost him the race.

Cardinal rule for gamblers:

NEVER EVER SAY A PLAY IS A LOCK!

That's common knowledge. :grandmais

In my very unscientific view, Gambling Forum Picks designated as LOCKS over the years are hitting at about 20% at best.
