Do we have at least 10 people with enough nerve for a $500 survivor contest. Winner take all?

No offense chop, but I think this needs to be put to a vote

Ok everyone vote.

But if you vote yes keep in mind if this happens in the future you won't get a 2nd chance. This is a one time deal in a First year league

Sorry NBA, but I'm leaning toward a 'no' vote.

If I could edit the game, I'd probably vote 'yes'.

There is no way to edit it? That would make things easier.

No way to edit it.

I like it that way. It is an unbiased way for the game to be played.

I think NBA just forgot to get his pick in. It happens. I wish it had not happened but that's the rules. He did not forget to get his picks in the LVH Rx contest.

Sorry NBA, nothing personal, but here's my take

Chop, I think you have to run the league by the rule of law. You need to do so to retain the integrity of the league. Not only this league, but each and every fantasy league has to be run in the same fashion. Once you start making exceptions, then other people might expect exceptions for one good reason or another whatever you say. My wife had a baby, i was in a car accident, I had an emergency appendectomy or my dog ate my homework.

In all seriousness, if NBA were to win this thing, the other person or 2 or 4 or however many were eliminated on the final weekend will feel cheated. Especially if they voted no, but even if they voted yes they may have some regret. Those who voted no may then impugn the reputation of the league.

Next year, they probably won't participate and recruiting new blood to grow the field will prove difficult if people start talking about making up the rules as you go along.

I'm out, I don't care what you decide, I'm just voicing the same opinion I always voice when addressing similar questions. Same stuff I said to Hache with respect to resolving issues in the capping contests.

if we are voting, i vote no.

i understand there are issues - but if 500 dollars is a big deal, make it a priority.
i make my picks Tuesday - and then change them later in the week - i do this so i do not make this mistake.

if CHop makes the decision (or if the "yes" votes win) - i am ok with it, just would disagree

I would vote no too if it is indeed up for a vote. Willie summed it up pretty well. In the future, I would recommend using Runyourpool or another site that permits allowing the option to have the software autoselect the largest point spread favorite the contestant has remaining in the event that no selection was manually made. The site I mentioned is a paid site but the cost is a fraction of a percent of the money at stake. In this case, NBA would have been assigned SD.

I would vote no too but we all know there was no intent to cheat and he gained zero advantage so I vote he had the Chargers yesterday - I just wish he would have been more honest and said he was barreled in with a ball and an escort rather than the two year old fish tale

Ok
Sorry NBA.
I really feel bad about this.
But there has already been enough people who voted no.

I think on a vote like this when you are breaking one of most important rules in the contest. It would require almost 100% agreement in your favor.

There is already too much opposition on the other side to justify you staying in.

This is a league I would like to do every year.
Willie brought up a great point.
Bending such an important rule might hinder people from wanting to do this next season.

We need a league where everyone is absolutely assured of 2 things:

1) That the winner(s) get paid 100% of their winnings once the contest is complete.
2) That the rules are clearly stated and clearly enforced.

If those 2 things are met I believe this will turn into a nice yearly contest.

Sorry NBA.
I hate for it to end this way but in order for this league to gain the credibility that it needs to be a yearly event we must default to the league rules.

Good decision Chop. Glad to see you're a man of the people. No hard feelings NBA, you're a good man as well. You can count me in for next year's contest.

Should be a fun week. Picks seem to be a little more spread out than they've been the past couple of weeks.

I don't know. Yahoo has 36% taking the saints. That's the highest percentage I have seen this year
