Do Many Out There Still Believe Lebron James Is Better Than Michael Jordan?

The entire league feared Jordan and the Bulls.

The only team that I can think of that feared LeBron was the demar/Lowry Raptors.

Am I wrong?

That is just funny, man.

If you think Steph Curry is "about the same" as Larry Bird, I"m guessing you started watching NBA basketball within the last 15 years.
How is that funny?

Curry is a generationally great player, by far the greatest shooter. As was Bird. It's a fair comparison....I would argueCurry actually has achieved more if you want to really break it down

I would say Curry is the 7th-8th best player ever if I laid out a list

Again just my opinion. Definitely reasonable to argue for Bird as well

One guy won 6 championships going to a game 7 once(in any round and never in the finals)

Another lost with a super team as a heavy favorite to the Dallas mavericks---and never had even 1 season where his team was dominate and ran through the league. Never. Not even one.

Could you imagine Jordan losing in the finals in 5 games to Karl Malone/stockon and the Utah jazz? Like Lebrob(again as the favorite) did to the spurs? Or losing a finals to payton/kemp? If this happened then we could have a discussion. But it never even came close.

Its just not close.

There is no question the gap between Jordan and the 2nd best player of his era was larger then the gap between Lebron and the 2nd best player of his era .

But that fact does not necessarily mean Jordan was better .

And I think people highly overvalue the level of play in the 80s and 90s vs today .

Todays teams are vastly better then the teams in those decades
Way more generationally great players in LeBron era than in the 90's, so of course the gap will be "closer." And LeBron was probably the best player for like 13-14 straight seasons in more star-laden era

80's vs. 90's also were drastically different in terms of style of play

You can also talk about LeBron and his passing and rebounding skills. But when was the last time LeBron has made an all-defesnive first team? While Jordan was still making the first team all the way up to his last season with the Bulls.

So to label LeBron as this do everything and Jordan a scorer is kinda laughable. Lebron has moved to playing just one side of the court at a very high level for awhile now...

Jordan is / was better than lebron and 80% of former and current NBA players will tell you that, and they know even better than we do

Lebron might not even be better than bird or kobe, much less MJ who is in his own stratosphere

A little off topic and I understand sports is changing--but when Lebron is done and finished what team do you think of when you think Lebron? I haven't really a clue. Durant is the same thing but he will always be remembered as the 2nd most talented player of his generation. I think Lebron will be the first player that was widely regarded as the best player of his generation and not one team to put his name by....

That is neither a good or bad thing---just interesting.(imo)

Do the Lakers, Cavs and Heat all build statues of him out front?

Are you smoking crack?
I think the 2016-17 Warriors are the greatest team ever assembled

The 2015-16 team could have been close to that if not for LeBron upsetting them in the Finals. That team went 73-9 in a conference with two other championship-worthy/great teams in the Spurs and Thunder

The 2017-18 team was clunkier for sure, had a lot of issues with health as well. But they obviously were damn good. That one probably more debatable

NBA had double team rules in the 90s though that definitely helped Jordan a little bit, though it didn't stop teams from trying to break them or abusing sending hard double teams

LeBron is tougher to double team because of his passing ability. If you sent a second guy to him when had the ball, then he was going to burn you with a pass. MJ not nearly as threatening that way

Huh?

What?

Bro you are making zero sense right now.

Michael Jordan averaged 35-37 points when he was being double & tripled every single night

He wasn't human

In today's panzy league he would average 50 no doubt.

Other NBA players have said this exact same thing

90s you could only send a hard double team at someone

You had to make an effort to guard every single player on the floor per league rules

Ok time for the "mic drop!" Every single season except for his rookie season, and his injured season, Jordan led the league in scoring! Plus he has the most (tied) first team All-Defensive teams in history!! Now if you're the best scorer and the best defender, what else is he supposed to do!?!?!? I get it, he didn't find the cure for cancer, but that aside no player not named Wilt can compare to this!! It's like Gretzky winning the Selke Trophy nine times!! Again best scorer, best defender equals best player!!!

Just to add on. Played 80 or more games almost every season. With many seasons of him playing ALL 82.

I understand load management these days and it makes a lot of sense. But still seeing Jordan never miss games with also being the best player shouldn't go over looked.

And playing in, by far, the toughest most physical era basketball ever! Bad boys, Mason, Ewing, Oakley front court, just brutal! Also the greatest era of big men ever! Robinson, Ewing, Olajuwon, Shaq, Mutombo!

It was the greatest era ever

The league was full of superstars one would have to go through

Today's there's less than a handful

It still was Michael's league 3 steps pushing off and never got fouls called against him the last 2 min of the game. But definitely got calls in his favor the last 2 min. Who cares what he averaged. I grew up in the 80's, the league and the players sucked Michael's dick. His teammates didn't like him. I guess everyone is okay with getting your father killed over your gambling problem.

You can drop the mic all you want. Michael has never win anything without SCOTTIE. Bottom line, Michael's career would've been completely different if he didn't have SCOTTIE. The same people that believe Michael is better is the same people that think football isn't fixed.
