MJ 30, 6, 5 shooting 49.7%

SP 16, 6, 5 shooting 47.3%

MJ nearly doubled Pippen, nobody's average 16 PPG

MJ averaged 37 PPG the year before SP arrived, JFC

MJ averaged the same or more PPG without SP

SP averaged FAR less without MJ

This discussion is embarrassing just to be part of

NEXT
no one said Pippen was a better scorer than MJ. His value was that he’s arguably the best perimeter defender EVER and a great passer and rebounder

Also, Pippen highest scoring averages in the 90s were when Jordan was NOT on the team. He averaged 22+ and 21+ those seasons

I would expect either one of them to score more without the other given they have to be used more, though Jordan is a score-first player so his should be higher

Jordan was just better however you stack it.(team championships, individual awards be it offensive or defensively)

Think of this for one second---in Jordan's era was there anyone else thought of outside of Jordan. It was Jordan and everyone else.

Lebron's era---Lebron comes first but that you quickly think of Steph. You move next to Durant. Hell you even thought of Kawhi before the injuries. Earlier in his career you thought of Duncan.

After Jordan's first championship---it was just Jordan and everybody else. Who was 2nd best in Jordan's era. Perhaps Karl Malone. Who Jordan never let win a championship. Perhaps Hakeem who won his two titles in Jordan's 1st retirement. Point being everyone only thought Jordan there was nobody who said---X is actually better based of Y.

Just my take.

‘16, ‘17, ‘18 Warriors all better IMO

The 1986 Celtics frontcourt had four of the NBA's 50 greatest players ever: Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin McHale and Bill Walton. Bird won the MVP that year.

Curry isn't a top 10 all time player and neither is Durant. Bird is.

I mean, you're actually comparing Matt Barnes to Bill Walton here.

I just still can't get pass how lucky Lebron even is to have 4.

Move the needle just slightly and he might only have 1 or 2(however you want to rate how likely the bubble season was to being canceled).

Allen doesn't nail that 3---along with everything needed before it and Lebron got smashed in the finals by Steph and Duncan.

I get he played great GS teams but he also had a stack Miami team in which he got very lucky to even get 2 titles with...including having his super team destroyed in 5 games.

GS being stacked also lead to many of Lebron's teams making the finals that didn't belong because it watered down the east. Which lead to him making the finals 10x. A double edged sword in many aspects.

What the bad boy pistons. Michael couldn't do shit against them. No answers I guess about what a great guy and teammate Michael was.

Which "better team" did LeBron face that was better than the '86 Celtics?

LOL
None of the teams LeBron has faced or beaten in the finals were better than teams back then

With exception to the warriors it's been a waterd down league for many years now

Michael did dethrone them...To the point the Pistons walked off the court without shaking hands.

Not even sure your points. Mike was young and learning still. And Mike didn't run from team to team trying to find more stars players to play with--he found scottie and all he needed.

Jordan's organization than ran him into 2nd retirement because the gm wasn't given the credit and thought he could easily build more championship teams. Which never happened.

Curry/Durant/Bird being top 10 players is pretty subjective

I would say all 3 of them are about the same. Personally I would rank Curry ahead of Bird at this point, and Bird a little ahead of Durant . But again kind of splitting hairs

Klay is arguably the second greatest shooter ever who was ascending to the peak of his powers. Draymond is easily a top 10 defender ever and a great faciliato on offense. Both Klay and Dray are HOFers

They also won 73 games without KD, then added him. They coasted more regular season with KD but when they turned the switch in 2017 they were basically unbeatable

This is a top-10 all time NBA player having an MVP season talking about Jordan:

"I think he's God disguised as Michael Jordan," Larry Bird said at the time. "He is the most awesome player in the NBA. Today in Boston Garden, on national TV, in the playoffs, he put on one of the greatest shows of all time. I couldn't believe anybody could do that against the Boston Celtics."

LeBron has never faced a player of Bird's caliber.

Michael played with ALL STARS. LeBron played with high schoolers his years in Cleveland. Again it is easy to win championships when you make up the rules. He was terrified of Bill lamber and Dennis Rodman when he played the pistons. You are telling me that wasn't a push off against John Stockton in the finals.

That is just funny, man.

If you think Steph Curry is "about the same" as Larry Bird, I"m guessing you started watching NBA basketball within the last 15 years.

Let's not forget Jordan played on the greatest team ever with the 72-10 Bulls.

Unlike GS and the Patriots he didn't let that team flame out in the championship. He just once again EASILY won the championship.

Refuse to lose is overused. But Jordan always refused to lose. Greatest athelete ever. Period!

There is no question the gap between Jordan and the 2nd best player of his era was larger then the gap between Lebron and the 2nd best player of his era .

But that fact does not necessarily mean Jordan was better .

And I think people highly overvalue the level of play in the 80s and 90s vs today .

Todays teams are vastly better then the teams in those decades

What was the average weight back then . Did any of these guys knew what a gym looked like. Basketball players today are faster and way stronger today. It was all about the shoes and money back then with the money. Please answer me if you where so good and so passionate about Basketball, why would you quit and go play a sport you succeed in and took positions away from other players that could play the game.

Ray Allen: 10 All Star selections
Chris Bosh: 11 All Star selections
Dwayne Wade: 13 All Star selections

I agree with this. The science is just better now and players take better care of their bodies along with it---which has lead to load management which is good for the individual team and player but sucks for paying fans.

Another thing Jordan did after his horrific injury his second year was to basically played 80 plus games every season with Chicago. Lots of seasons not missing a single game.
